You imply that it was made by you when you say it was your first render. To render something you have to create an environment to render from first. Duh...
Yea in 3d you must be aware of that. Always first make a plan what scene you will gonna make, because you can even work if u have that much poly's hehe. Vue is good stuff, but it one day at work it crash almost 5-6 times in day. And that really sucks
yo mate, lets say u wanted to render something at 1920 x 1200 user settings - everything complete max out render settings, every box ticked how long u think the render would be.
i render on multiple computers, better to say 8 of them.4 G5 or Mac Pro and 4 PC Phenom 9950 8 Gb Rams 2x hd4870 (1024) but not x2. So if u wanna go in CG market you will need better equipment. That's my opinion. You're configuration is really good but trust me when someone will need animation within few days.
For architecture visualization i use Max 2009+vray or Gelato Render.Vue only for landscape but in max. Belive me i'm not really satisfied with Vue, render sucks. If u need for landscape then go to Vue but for more complex modeling Max. Trust me.
it depends on the user...it can render vray like qualities and can render realistic scenes not just like other archviz that trees looks like pasted, the sky don't match with shadow and lighting etc...it is so easy to setup lights vue can't model architecturally but it can with some plugins and phyton scripts
send the scenes to max and render i believe there where ways of importing it, and tottally agree vue render is a disgrace can't do smooth raytracing at all plus all the reflections get noise
that anmation was already created in vue
