There is so much RusChu pairing up Russia and China I hated it. So I went with this pairing because there's too much USUK and RusChu. Also because these are my favorite characters.

I feel the reason why many people care about certain pairings in this series is partially because of their interest in a particularly point in history or the foreign relations between those countries. If you are offended I apologize, but I am quite surprise that you are not offended by the series all together.
@dustay7 The series altogether is not offensive. Barely any of it revolves around ANY type of war(even WWII), and 99% of it is how countries interact. Meanwhile, the Cold War had the power to destroy the world, and if it had truly happened, you would not be alive today, nor would I or any of these commenters. I don't think a funny show should be linked to the Cold War. If you're interested in that point of time, learn but don't link it to Hetalia.
@StarxLolita If the German would have gotten the bomb first (which they almost did) in WWII none of us would be alive today. If China decides to drop the dollar, the US and the economy of the world will collapse far worst then it already is and many of us will starve and be put into war. There are many if's both in history and the future. Yet Hetalia does still comment on history even with those 'ifs.' Revolutionary War? Thousands of people die. We're you not offended by their portrayal?
@StarxLolitaAnyone who studies the Cold War knew that there was no chance that a nuclear attack would occur because of the MAD theory. There was only one point where it was close and that was the Cuban Missile Crisis. Even then both Khrushchev and Kennedy did not wish to fire nuclear weapons. Khrushchev comparing it to a tightening of a knot. You also must realize that we have far more nuclear weapons now then we did during that time. Reason why we won't use them is because again...MAD.
@StarxLolita I guess I find it humorous that a show that is BASED on stereotypes is a show you are interested in, when the main function of the show is to offend to the point it is humorous.
@StarxLolita Oh and did you know if the Cold War had never happened are technology would not be as advance as it is today since the majority of our technological advancement was pushed by the government through military and NASA programs to out pace the Soviets. The Cold War might have been a paranoia time, but it was a time of great growth within the United States.
@dustay7 Did you know that wasn't as much of a reason as what happened in the 40s, with experiments on dogs, monkeys and humans that the Germans, Soviets, Japanese, and Americans did? That they actually helped more than the Cold War?
Even if it was a time of growth, there's no reason to link it to a manga that pokes fun at everything. It takes away the seriousness and mocks the time period.
