This anime is entitled "Blood+". It revolves around the life of a young, adopted girl. The family she was adopted into owns an Okinawan pub, and in this city, she does everyday things - runs track, goes to school, etc. - and lives normally until one day, when she is attacked by visions of long past times (the Vietnam War, etc.), and her normal life is interupted.
She is then called to do more, to go on, because a horrible plague that has been caused by her long-lost sister, Saya is infecting>
