  • @gudduonline89 I like how Dev Anand was let by the director to frolic around in the open nature. I think the song and the video go hand in hand making it a classic.

  • A classic combination of shailendra, rafi shahab and the master of all masters burmanda. Doesn't get any better.

  • Great song!! Rafi's classic amongst many..

  • wow what a song sung by the great Rafi shaib

  • Indomitable performance!

  • Rafi saab is great.....

  • Since we have all kinds of tech,we can get this voice back by synthesizers at least for consolation. Although 100 % creation is impossible. Something will be still better.

Devsaab looking good even at 40 yrs

  • Beautiful song. One of my favourites.

thanks Bellztoll for this wonderful song.

  • Rafi or Kumar who is the greatest?

I'm not going near that question with a 10 foot pole!

But either way, this tune absolutely rocks.

Still kicking it in 2009 as far as I am concerned.

  • rafi, there, wasnt that easy

  • a bit too easy, but its not our fault rafi is so amazing.

  • @hrhcrab:

    That's a good question. Between Kishore/Rajesh Khanna and Rafi/Dev Anand...I don't think I could pick a favorite, they're pretty well matched.

  • Rafi sahab's voice suited actors alot more than kishore's, even for rajesh khanna , all his earlier songs by Rafi sahab, were his recognition, especially the one from mehboob ki mehndi!

  • @TheDiamondRafi

I looked into that and yes, you're right. So as far as singers go, my scale is tipped in favor of Rafi ji :).

  • it shows your good taste and recognition of the best talent bollywood ever produced!

    thnks!

  • @hrhcrab

agreed wholeheartedly. i am also tired of this meaningless debate. rafi was great. so were many others.

  • @hrhcrab

    2011-still kicking it

    3000-will still be kicking it

rafi is no 1 his effect on the world will last forver

  • dil chahta tha chand se mile par ankh

khuli to america pahuncha tha! thank you

  • Chand raat me aata din aate chala jaata hai aisa kyu. thank you.

  • The film was inthose days and to day also afailure. But for S D Burman music nothing is there. How about other songs of the same film ,by Asha Sachi hue spne and by sudha malhotras bhajan na me dhanu chahum , They are also super hits like this song. Rai is great ,but we should not for get music director Sachin dev Burman

  • one of the best song u will ever get to listen.... awesome...

  • i agree...indeed a evergreen song...remarkable voice non other then rafi saab...hats off to the lyrics aswell

  • Rafi ...uffffffffff what a voice ..............

  • in ur opinion maybe but all the proffessionals including Rafi sahabs fellow singers all agreed he was and still is the best!!

  • I never said he wasn't the best. He is. I merely stated about the voice quality.

  • you hav to have the best voice to be the best!

  • kishore kumars voice never reached the levels of rafi. kishore's, albeit wonderful and one of my fav voices, did not have the clearness, flexibility, and soulfullness of rafi.

  • I believe Rafi is better on both counts. It's a personal opinion of course.

  • okay fine people, he's the best! now leave me alone! can't a person have his/her opionion? what's this need to convince everyone? let me be. do not reply. thanks.

  • @zyuv rassgullah, tamatar, karaila

  • evergreen song

  • vaha vaha mujko toh ahb need hi nahi ayegi ..lol

  • Love this song. have beautiful memories with this song. Listened during traveling through Mala Kand's breath taking mountains in a full moon night.. Aaaahh. Kash those days could come back

  • ustaad jee mala kand mein to jung (war) ho rahi hai .............

  • those were the beautiful days ... miss them alot

  • One of my all time favourites and melodious sonfs

  • The brilliant "Ooh !" doodle by the brilliant & late Great Mohammed Rafi sahib backed by this wonderful 1960's background music is the sound of A Golden era which has sadly long gone.

  • hmm ! this song was written by shailender , the guru of gulzaar who won oscar for lyrics of slumdog. Its epitome of bollywood lyrics art. RDburman came to shailender in the morning of a day, but shailender was busy in his other project, RDBURman sat there till it turned 12 am at night. and shailender said lets roll to the beach and sitting there looking at the moon smokin he said write burman, khoya khoya chand, khula asman, song completed in 3 minutes. What a great lyricst man . respect

  • nice, we dont know anything about this song. thx

  • thanks a lot for posting appreciate it

  • dev anand was such a great actor loved all of his movies

  • Another love song with dev anand, old is really gold, memories wakes up again.......

  • Dev Anand running funnily at 1:45....the song is so sweet to hear!

  • it is called raj kapoor syndrome ....

  • On a scale of 1-100 I just give 9%. Nice wishful thinking. Keep trying KK there may well be audience for you, Who knows?

  • MAGICAL

  • KK is Kishor Kumar. I hope u know that.

  • I think Dev Anand had longer hands than normal human beings. That's why it looks odd. He was a great actor nevertheless.

  • lol...after reading this all i noticed for the rest of the video was his arms..i dont think his arms are abnormal they're just a lil floppy

  • lol I think he was trying to develop his own style. Everyone talks or behaves in some way some people are more noticeable due to the stuff they do like shaking their head or flipping hand through hair etc. I think they r normal but that was funny :)

  • Comment removed

  • floppy arm style, i think i get why it never caught on

  • well ask your parents its from that era

  • Dev Anand's gestures in this song are so terrible it's hilarious.

  • surely an evergreen song.........

    unbeatable

  • great song... kya baat hai!!

  • GOOD1

  • one of those greatsongs that lurks deep in memory.........

  • kishore would not have been able to sing this the way Rafi has .. don't get me wrong, KK was alright, but not a patch the legend that is Rafi Sahab

  • i Agree.. Rafi sahab has shown his versatility, in all forms of music from hindustani classical to swing.

  • OK I do like Rafi but he's so old school and KK is so not

  • Rafi and KK were actually contemporaries, so it's unfair to say that one was old school and the other isn't .. after all, they both died within afew years of each other .. but i understand what you are saying, Rafi is usually associated with old songs from 50's and 60's whereas KK was popular in 70's and 80's .. if you like Rafi, then check out his songs from the 70's and 80's .. you will be pleasantly surprised .. PEACE TO YOU

  • I know. My cousin and aunt adore Rafi- I like to kid them about it!KK's contemporaneity may have something to do with the RD Burman revival in the 90s

  • Lol Here comes another comment!! Comparing Rafi and KK is like comparing apple & oranges. Rafi was blessed to have got opportunity to sing songs when they were written by real poets not filmi lyricists. Plz listen to his song from Kaun Sachha kaun jhootha once !! I cannot fanthom why a legend like him sang such songs :(

  • I agree that Rafi had legends like Sahir Ludhianvi, Neeraj and others writing some fantastic poetry but KK had his share of classic songs too, like "Jeevan se bhari" in Safar and "Dil Aaj Shayar" in Gambler. Kishore's gift was his strong voice, which did not have the range that Rafi had but was perfect for conveying heavy emotion (thinking "Dil aisa kisi ne" from Amanush). Both had their element.

  • I think comparisons between Rafi and KK are meaningless. Between Rafi and KK, its largely a matter of personal choice. One can definitely say that both are these were better than Kumar Shanu, for example, but it is difficult to conclude who was better between these two

  • theres nothing with him running arround like a love lorn lunatic...if youve never felt it youll never know..

  • One of my fav.by the one and only Moh.Rafi the king of kings I just love him a great song

  • old songs r only to say WAHHHHHH

  • Great song .. badly picturised! Wish it was filmed on Asha Parekh and Rajesh Khanna ..

  • Love this song! Its simple but yet so charming & romantic. Rafi sahab has no match. Dev Anand is just about bearable though-nothing against him but somehow his movements & expressions dont compliment the magic of the song.

  • what a classic..im 13..but i so love these songs..

  • one of my all time favourites

  • a greatttttttttt song - greattttttttttttt dev ananddddddddddddddddddddd

  • Dev Anand just rocks What a song Thanx Mate for uploading !!!

  • No one can match Rafi, wish he was back

  • Omg i totli love this song. its so amazin, 1 ov the most beautiful songs, top of my list ;) x

  • i listen to it even in my dream.very captivating, very enchanting.

  • Hi Kannukaren, I completely share this with you. This song was a revelation when it was newly released. You could feel that even the birds were singing it. And at night when everybody was sleeping, you could hear the silence singing it. It was everywhere.

  • Hello, back in the sixties, Khoya, khoya chand from a juke-box in the restaurant along the highway, caused a massive traffic jam.You just imagine.Oh yes, no one grumble,no hoo ha,they just listened and moved away,as if there was no jammed at all.

  • Greatest ever hindi song!!! Dev anand Rocks!!!

  • Wah Rafi Sahib wah!

  • rafi and devanand nice combination

  • Dev Anand's front end hair are too long, needs hair cut!

  • hehe, Enjoy the song.What a beauty.

  • Vow Dev Anand was soooooo handsome. I just love him. He was gorgeous

  • this is the best song i've ever heard

  • This is probably one of the best Hindi songs EVER! And today is the FIRST time I am listening to it...guess that's how good this song is!

  • Yes an indication of good song is that it appeals even if you listen it for the first time.

  • successful formula for a hit film = Dev Anand's histrionics + fantastic songs with rafi or kishore + beautiful heroins + good story and screenplay + wonderful locations.

  • inconceivable today.

    :D

  • the first time i listened to this song i was in my mom's car and she had put in an old cassette in the cassette player. after that time, i sang along with the song everytime i heard it. It may be old, but it is still awesome!

  • rafi saab is immortal

  • wahhhhhhhh ji wahhhhhhhh

great song ,,,,,,,old is Always Gold

    tnx for uploading

  • woooooooooohoooooooooooo

2 good looking ones and wonderful song....love it !!!

  • Oh come on now, someone who says that those gestures could purely by homo-sexuality...I think, it is just a way of thinking..one can enforce the ideas in mind to someone else's behaviour...now, neither i am a devanand's fan nor am i offending any one. Also, children make such gestures when happy and playful..would you regard them as homos, no.

  • wow wat a song md rafi rox it feels like a man is in your love and asking to cum at his home.

  • It's amazing how Rafi saab sings with such effervescence!

  • Rafi sahab, no one sings like him.

  • will one of you lovely indians or pakis please post up a translation. I think I got the jist of it, but I'd love the entire lyrics in english. shokran, or shokreeya :D

  • Husn786, im not ind or pak, im afghan. i didnt repeat the koya koya chand part because it became too long, and i have to post it as seperate comments.

Oh, The Lost Lost Moon, The Wide Open Sky

  • God, this song just makes me get lost...you know?

  • This is one of the all time hits and not to mention the movie as well. Such type and style movies seem to be coming back - Om Shanti Om and now Sudhir Mishra's Khoya Khoya Chand with Shiney Ahuja and Soha Ali Khan. I am glad.

  • I can't believe it Has been More than 47 years Since this song came out. Rafi and Dev Anand had teamed up for many timeless songs. I believe the las Movie they teamed up together was Guide.
