  • I know of one of these on a farm in the north of New Zealand, where it was used for moving boulders and forming waterways. I was told it could lift 8 tons close to the cab and about a ton and a half with the arm extended, so it must have been a big'un. I cannot give more details as I am going by memory and have not seen it for a while. It was the (to me) unusual name of Poclain that has stayed in my memory. Greetings from NZ.

  • Wow! That takes me back.......

That's the soundtrack of my childhood. I grew up in Adelaide, South Australia. There were three HC300's in Adelaide, all owned by the same guy. As an adult, I spent a few weeks operating one in the late 80's. Oh...... and there is no mistaking the sound of a V8 detroit, is there?! Thanks for posting the video.

  • nice sounding 8V71!!

  • crane?

  • What an amazing crane!

    I have a Poclain 90 from 1975, a TY2p and 81Ck; I know a guy who has 4 restored Poclains from that age...

  • That's a beautiful old Poclain and I have recently found the same model in a concrete factory around the corner of my home. Unfortunately, it does not operate any more. So, it's very good to hear that beautiful roaring of the 12 cylinder Deutz engine. Oh, yeah, it really needs some grease...
