  • Very windy day

  • I wanna kiss its engines...When they are cold!

  • That plane is crap

  • great camera angle

  • its so massivly powerful sorry for english ;)

  • Great shots but next time use a tripod to stop the shaking of the camera.

  • @12dogpal I couldn't use it. It was forbidden to stay where I was :-) there were works and so they closed the access ... i find just a "cut" in the net and I entered :D :D

  • Majestic looking tri-engine bird! Can't believe they would still use these old beasts for passenger travel!

  • Biman should stop using this Killer plane....

  • @sethuramancbi dc-10s are safer now. They made it safer, and anyways biman now use 777-200(ER)

  • Noisy fucker!

  • it looks like my dog

  • ? ... your dog has three Jet Engines and two huge wings and is it in Aluminium ?

  • ofcourse not, dont be so silly lol

  • hahahahaha :-)))

  • I havn't seen a Biman DC-10 at Heathrow for a while...Not to say they don't still use them.

I flew with Biman back in the early 90s on one of their DC-10s from London to Dhaka {Ran out of toilet water en-route} and one of their Fokker 28s from Dhaka to Bangkok {Ants in the overhead lockers}.

  • i never flew on a DC-10, but did fly on and loved the L-1011

  • button nose+McD winshield=badass

  • dc-10 and the old 747's are the best planes ever

  • VERY NICE AIRPLANE

  • its a dc-10 cos md-11s have winglets!!!!

  • When did the DC-10 retire? And did it?

  • Comment removed

  • This plane is a DC-10.. The MD11's have winglets and I did check before jumping to conclusions but pretty much the same plane...

  • Also MD-11's have really short engines on their wing compared to the DC10 which has longer wing engines.

  • there are still dc 10s you fagbrained retard they did not have too bad of a reputation

  • u piece of dumbfuck...there is NO FUckInG DC-10 out there that carries fucking passengers...only FREIGHT...retarded dumbass

  • dude there are tons well i shouldnt say tons but there are about 30 dc10s in operations with airlines

  • You Don't know shit!LOL!

  • it hasn't retired yet. Its still in service! :)

  • ok time to change the subject people... stop with the safety records jibber jabber and who gives a shit about the concorde - this is a video of the DC-10 enjoy it for what it is.

    great footage 5/5*

  • Don;t like an engine on the most vunerable part of the fuselage.

  • @getofmaballs...

If you take a look at the DC-10's safety record, all the accidents after 1989 were due to heavy/bad landings, Aborted Takeoff's, or just bad weather.

    @ SamHerrison93...

The thrust reverser had broken on a previous flight, so Continental (The operators of that DC-10) used a third-party supplier who had not been approved by the FAA. It fell of during takeoff, and no one saw that strip until the investigation was well underway.

  • Crash stats are a little biased against the Dc10 as not too many were built compared to the 747. Both had major issues, particuarily in the 70's when jet aircraft of that magnitude was still new technology.

Dc10 as far as I know has about 30 hull losses out of about 400, but the majority were in the 70's..

  • No offence everyone... but about 70 DC-10's have crashed - The DC-10 even DESTROYED concorde.

  • Yes it's really true Getofmaballs. You perfectly right. Nevertheless it's a beautiful Plane to see ( but I no want to get in on it to fly :-) )

  • yea... :P

  • Despite its troubled beginnings in the 1970s, the DC-10 ultimately proved a reliable aircraft, much loved by engineers and pilots. The original DC-10-10's notorious safety record continuously improved as design flaws were ironed out and fleet hours increased. In fact, the DC-10's lifetime safety record as of 2003 is comparable to similar second-generation passenger jets.[6] Increased inspections and modifications made the DC-10 among the safest aircraft for passenger travel.

  • Yes.... its a beutifal plane... but why so many crashes? :S

  • It was rushed to production with flaws due to MD'S financial situation and competition with the 747. A few flaws were inexcusably not corrected after crashes leading to other crashes

    from the exact same thing.

Today it is a very safe bird.

  • ... Proof?

  • How did it Destroy Concorde?

  • Well it left a chunk of metal on the runway and concorde went into it.

  • charles-de-gaulle destroyed the concorde

  • that crash destroyed it

  • nice

  • pretty cool bird!

  • Nice sound from those GE CF6s, and the elegant profile!

  • A great ol' bird, the DC-10.

Gotta love that power on take-off!

  • Hear hear, no pun intended, a sound of their own! And what a great looking machine.
