Back then MTV and/or VH1 never aired anything like this. I was in junior high when this song came out. Can you believe only now after 25 years this is the first time I have ever seen the video. The indescribable feelings and memories this song has. Today's musical talent will never be matched that of the 80's.

Kind of a sad backstory to this song. Rupert Holmes (Of Escape/Pina Colada song fame) was approached by a friend who knew the guy managing The Jets and they needed a ballad, so he wrote this song for them from the perspective of a young girl (Since her heard Elizabeth Wolfgramm was rather young at the time) and thought his 10 year old daughter would also enjoy the song.later if it hit). He said he never got to enjoy this song when it was a hit as his daughter had suddenly passed away

(17 kids in all) Elizabeth the singer on the right in the crush on you video was diagnosed with breast cancer at age 22 and had one removed, but got it in remission ever since then and went on the have 6 kids of her own and got married. Her and her sister Moana still record a song here and there. Done some gospel stuff too.
