  • 28 on 14 off here oil field making dreams come true

  • I am a born & raised "patch brat". My dad started with Dowell (now Schulmberger) and we lived over seas for most of the 70's. We came back to AB he went consulting & worked in the US & overseas through the 80's "crash". My ex was a Heavy Duty with contracts with PD. My current husband has done roughie, cementing, wireline, and is now DD. My whole life has been patch-it does take a "special" woman to be a patch widow. It's all I've ever known, as well as my kids. Be proud to not be a "princess"!

  • F*CK the haters...My fiancee is a wireline engineer, he works 16 on 4 off. Noone understands the stresses on us women, but we also are pretty lucky. I LOVE getting to spoil my man and keep the house for him. THe money is amazing as well. One thing tho, is the oil field will ruin relationships/marriages if the foundation for their marriage isnt strong enuf. For me personally, it is great. They dont call us "wireline widows" for nothing!

  • As an oilman, i cant express enough how good my wife is!!! than you to ALL the oil wives out there for putting up with our shit!!!!!

  • i understand how it is being a oilfield wive i am one. its a way of life that very few women can handle. it take alot of trust on both parts. its also mentally tiring. what keeps me going is the thought that he is coming back home and that he loves what he does

  • I know how tough it could be. I see my wife and kids once every month and a half. I work on an oil rig that is doing a lot of drilling in New Mexico. I have been blessed because I broke my leg and have been home for two months now. I live on the east coast. Workers Comp has been floating us by good as my wife continues to work. But, it is tough at times.

  • @dogtrauma hey do u think you can help me get a job. I need one bad and I've been trying so hard to get work

  • Now you just need to find out how to get more haters...lol

  • i can be up your butt if ya want.....lol

  • "they won't be up your butt, but thats just my mom"

    ain't she a dirty one

  • esta bien chula

  • you all sound like Americans to me. In Canada an oil field wife means you want to keep your house if you live in Northern Ontario. They shut up every other job and the man is gone for up to 8 weeks with out even seeing his family. Personally I married a rich business man that is what my mother told me to do,lol!

  • I've been in the patch for 2 years I worked on aworkover for 6 months my wife put up with a 12and 2 rotation. So she get her way in the house and with the money. Its harder for you and the kids than it is us alot of the time.

  • I didnt c the other clip 2 see y u have hates i lookd 4 it but no luck lol. Im n oilfield wife... my father is a driller, my husband is a driller n my father inlaw was a pusher/ superintendent. I grow up in this up n down life....it can b so very hard on us wives n the kids... n the dads miss so much...yet they provide so much...u hang in there ;)

  • Hey, i Understand to all about what ur talking about.. .. my hubby works 21 on 7 off its rough,,, but we make it work... its hard but i do still get to go to school as welll... so it makes it a bit easer on me when i get down time to study...

  • Let them be stupid and closeminded, Do your thing...

  • I have been in the oil business quite long time and I can say that is not only how much time you spend with your family is also quality, yes, we are not 100% of the time at home but when at home watching your little son since morning to evening kissing his cheek when going to the bed and then making love to your woman with passion like another honeymoon...this is priceless, different if you are at home all the time, making this things repeteadly every day, so as everything...pros and cons.

  • Stay Strong

  • I've been in the oilfield for about 4 years and i can tell you like this i love my girlfriend but if i had to choose i can honestly say i would choose my rig girls can be replaced but doing something you love only comes once in a life time

  • Give your man some credit he is out there busting his ass everyday so you CAN stay home and go to school. Go out and watch your man work for a little while make it one day when it is cool and snowing or raining. I don't see my man for 21 days and on his 7 days off he spends the first 2 1/2 days resting up yes he is a little gumpy and hard to deal with but I realize how hard he works and I deal with it becuz I love him.

  • I am about to start in the Alberta oilfield and my wife is super supportive. I don't know whether I'll have any kind of a regular shift to start as the company I'm starting with is short workers and I may be out for a while. I lok forward to it, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a bit concerned about how it's going to be on our family. I will miss my wife and boy and girl, but the benefits, I hope, will be worth it! Supportive women like yourself and my wife are golden!

  • I know how you feel.Iam a single oilfield dad,and ihave been working for my company for 9 years now. However we as men sometimes forget how important our woman our,but just because we dont show how we feel dose not mean we dont care.Working on a rig is exhausting,i work 4on and 4off ,but when i get home i just want to sleep.so dont think we dont care if we didnt care we wouldnt do the job.Things always work out in the end.So stay strong cause some woman dont stick it out.

  • I am a roughneck. I am not hating on you because your message touched me. I dont work on land so I dont have the privilage to come home every night. I am on the rig for 14 days at a time. My wife hates it but seems to tolerate it. I make sure the 14 days I am home I spend all the time I can w/ my wife.

  • i just subscribed to your vlog. i understand your hurt and joy of being a oilfied wife. im on my 12th year with my husband. he now is a fisherman so it paysoff in the long run. stay strong and keep lovin him.

  • hey im just curious does your hubby work 7 on 7 off or what?

  • yes, he's supposed to be 7/7 but you know how that is

I think he'll be working straight for the next two and a half weeks.

  • i understand my hubby works 7/7 also but thats alot better than 21 on 7 off lol thanks

  • well you are very good so dont worry about the hater i have hater to

  • you are so sweet
