  • I think in the end that was death seeping into her and taking her soul and him tell him that he would never see her alive again "nevermore".

  • I love the royal ambiance to this, it really matches how I imagined it! The only thing I would have changed though is the raven's voice, it's way deeper that I expected. :/

  • Quoth the Raven, "Nevermore."

  • I love the music, anyone know anything about the songs, the musician(s), or the genre?

  • a cleaning to the house!

  • Thumps up for the amount of time and work invested on this....really good video...though, I have to agree with other comments about the raven's voice...it sounded a bit like a bad horror atraction effect (no disrespect intended), and it kind of broke the mood of the whole thing...still, great work, very good perfomance and great music that helped a lot the ambience of the moment. (Y)

  • ugh yes!!! loved it!! love the dark romantic poems..A ++

  • the raven when it said nevermore scared the shit out of me as a kid

  • so the guy doesnt die in the end?

  • Very awesome indeed, every thing went perfect almost the whole video, BUT!

the last "Nevermore" is meant to be said by the human, since he's the one now

describing about his soul, and by saying himself "Nevermore" let us know that

his soul has been somehow touched by the shadow of the raven who's only words were "Nevermore"

  • 5 persons, will don't look the video, NEVERMORE!

  • Congratulations! This is a peace of art. Read the book with Doré's illustrations.

  • great, very artistic! I just didn´t like the part of Lenore in the grave, the voice of the raven and the last part with the death...

  • his performance is great, I really liked!

  • This is by far the best performance of this poem. It does it true justice.

  • Can someone cut the 1:38 or 5:44 Nevermore*

i wish i can use it as a ringtone

  • This is one of my favorite stories and the raven's voice creeps me out, but it's so cool!

  • A raven talking does not sound like that.

    lawl.

  • @PanndaKat The idea is it's not a raven but death telling him he will never see Lenore again, because he has come for her soul.

  • The actor/narrator has certainly portrayed the heart broken lover to perfection. This is the best interpretation of the poem by far. If anyone else tries it...... well shall we just say that they have a lot to live up to.

  • @SuperLifestream oh my god, shutup, it's a free country and if he wants to copy someone he can! youur making him sound stupid, what about you? You looked bad at comments from a year ago..get a freakin LIFE!>:( lol and anway wow best raven interpretationn so dar i've seen, nice job guys :)!

  • @spsnakecake Are you out of your mind? All the guy said is it's practically the same comment and you leave this long angry comment... You're sick.

  • @TheAndrewlawlrence what the hell is wrong with you? get a life and stop worrying about other people.

  • @spsnakecake After leaving that long angry paragraph for some one you don't know and will never know you tell ME to get a life and stop worrying about people. Woahhh. You are either a 12 year old girl or some one with literal downs syndrome. Or a christfag.

  • this is brilliant!

  • wow i never thought of it that way

  • the last few lines are my favorite

  • @999duhast The Narrator is obviously left haunted by his beloved. Very sad, very Shakespearean and very deeply moving a Poem.

  • For those asking what this poem is about. The Narrator is obsessed with the death of his love Lenore. The agony he feels in her loss has no ending. He asks the Raven is his pain will ever end. Is there any remedy for the sadness he feels...the only answer is Nevermore. He knows never shall he see her again. She will only haunt his memory and nothing more.

In the end death does not come for him...he sees it come for her soul...and leave him. And deaths shadow remains.

  • @ryan48888 its funny how your comment is exactly the same as @jmasserant who posted that 1 year ago

  • FINALLY~A worthy adaption of Poe's haunting Tale.

  • Creepy especally the ending!

  • epiiiic !!!!

  • I love this story ^u^

  • All I can say is ..... DAAAAMMM!!! that was awesome

  • Meh, this version is all props and actors. They don't say the poem right (which is the entire point of putting it on screen).

It would have also been cooler if the raven actually croaked "Nevermore" in a raven's voice rather than that weird demonic voice.

  • holy crap. poe is god(not really)

  • So is the raven Lenore?

  • Hi PinkCherry18

I wondered this too, but originaly when I 1st read the poem, I couldn't help feel the Raven was Angel Of Death and when the Angel of Death had revealed his true form at the end of this video, it kinda 'confirmed' my 1st impression :)

  • My one critique is of the Raven's voice -- it would have been far creepier had it been a distorted yet distinctly female voice -- the spectral ululation of Lost Lenore.

  • poe alway speaks to my heart.love it.very beautiful.the spell poe put on me shall be lifted NEVERMORE!!!

  • Cool! (the raven's voice is kinda creepy though)

  • Really well done. Loved it!

  • This deserves our most honest aplodes..

    No less than 5 stars!

  • this is really awesomee =]

i love the raven now lols

and isnt it lenore, not leonor ?

  • nope it's leonore..

I've bought myself the book of Edgar Allan Poe...

  • That bird is a little creep stick!!!!

  • So dark, so depressing

    Very artistic

  • fabuloso!!

    no lo tienes subtitulado??

  • still a very great act i loved it you should make so much more really! did you act in this? even if you left out lots of lines its still a great rep of the poem. he was a wonderful man, mr.poe...

  • Comment removed

  • I'm speechless. Words can't express how phenomenal this was. If I had the money I'd pay you to do more of these and .... amazing talent. Stunning and fantastic....

  • they spelled lenores name wrong and they left out tons of lines!!! this poem really has 18 verses!

  • stanzas...

  • ah thank you... :P

  • oh and this was probably the best video i have seen on poes works so far this night...great job

  • For those asking what this poem is about. The Narrator is obsessed with the death of his love Lenore. The agony he feels in her loss has no ending. He asks the Raven is his pain will ever end. • thanks for the summary...but in the end i feel that the narrator is saying that his soul was lost/taken from him when lenore has died..would you say this is correct, considering your knowledge of literature?

  • This is an amazing video!! Where can I find a version with two parts together? I am an English teacher and showed this to my class and they absolutely loved it. This depicts the emotions and agony of the narrator like nothing else Ive seen or heard.

It would be great if a few stanzas were not omitted, but it doesn't detract from the over all quality of the film or poem.

Excellent filming and effects. Five stars!

  • amazing!!!!!!!by the way.....does anyone know the band nevermore?if you dont i suggest you to listen to their album "dreaming neon black"..........actually their name was inspired by that poem.................

  • nice song

  • exelente trabajo es muy bueno

  • i love the raven i dont realy understand it and what lesson its trying to give can anyone tell me

  • Wow wow wow! What an outstanding vid for this poem. The actor, the setting, and the Raven (except his voice, they should have made it different) was perfect! Too bad they didn't recite the whole poem and the ending was a bit wrong but other then that it was a great vid...Edgar Allen Poe forevermore!

  • why did he die!!!!sorry but i didnt understand the poem that much.nice tho!!!

  • I want dream like a Edgar Allan Poe please, please my Lord.

  • I can't guarantee anything but:

    1. Read or watch something haunting and evocative before you go to bed, i.e A work of Poe's, ... The Raven.

    2. Eat a large chunk of Cheddar Cheese.

    3. Go to sleep quite late, as you should be tired enough to fall asleep quite quickly.

    - I did this a couple of times and had crazy dreams, seriously. Sounds stupid but it works.

  • Wow, that was amazing.

  • This was incredible! This is my favorite poem, and they did such a good job!!!

  • god...

    loved it!

but it would have been even better if they hadn't skipped parts of the poem...

btw, was that song in the end Evenfall by Tristania? nice choice!

  • Holy smokes! The raven's voice sounds like something straight out of "The Exorcist"!

  • Nice! Too bad the whole poem isn't read, but the parts we do get are amazing. And creepy...especially the Raven's voice. Very nice! I love how we can see the narrator's utter despair, and how it turns into eventual madness. Best interpretation I've seen so far!

  • Fantastic! Brutally devoid of emotion that makes this great work even more erie. 10/10!

  • nice work, really.

  • As much as people are going to criticize me for saying this, you could have done a lot better. The Raven is about how Isolation leads to madness, and while this is good, it didn't quite capture the true spirit of the Raven. The Raven isn't the devil who carries his soul to hell (or whatever the man in the cloak was at the end) it's just a figment of the insane mind of the narrator. Also, this needs to be included "And his eyes have all the seeming of a demon that is dreaming."

  • I liked your interpretation, really.

And we should remenber that Edgar Allan Poe had traces of schizophrenia, in other words he was a little bit "crazy". Do you think that this could have made some influence in his work?

  • Watch your tongue, you don't know who you're saying that to. The facts about Edgar Allan Poe's life are very skewed, no one knows for sure if he was really schizophrenic, all we know is where and when he was born, several facts about his adoption, him getting cut off for drinking and gambling his way through school, his time in the army, his many poems and stories, and his death. He had many enemies for being a harsh critic, they got their revenge by skewing his name.

  • lol. "Watch my tongue"? Who are you? Poe's mother? himself or what? Dude grow up, stop living in the moon and come down to Earth. This is a free country, I can say whatever I want about anyone. Specially about a poet. It's MY INTERPRETATION. That's what poems are, they need to be undertood, and once you do that, you also understand a small part of the poet's soul. If I think he was schizophrenic and also read it somewhere to support my opinion then so be it. Schizophrenia is a DISEASE!

  • I'm not Poe's mother, I'm schizophrenic too, but thanks a lot for pointing out that it's a disease, something I'm fully aware of. When I say watch your tongue I mean be aware of who you're talking to. And for your information, though I am schizophrenic, I am not insane. That's all.

  • And I have to be really stupid to actually have responded you. What a waste of my time, arguing in the internet with some strange about MY opinion.

Whatever. I still liked your interpretation, and that was all I wanted to say.

Pointless arguing, this ends here. You don't need to reply

  • amazing...

  • I would have LOVED to study this poem. It tells so much about emotion - hatred, love, pain and death.

  • holycrap. the ravens voice almost made me pee. im studying this poem in school. this is by far the best video i have seen of the raven.

  • The main character is AMAZING! The only thing I didn't love was the Raven's voice. Other than that, this was absolutely brilliant.

  • nevermore!

  • Wow, they use a jib in this short alot.

  • oh yes! ^_^ truely wonderful!

  • Gracias por subir esta joya ;) , es una pena que esté dividido en dos partes, pero es genial.

  • o_o i want the raven to stop "talking", that voice is WAY to freaky...

  • Wow this movie is so aweseome! The acting is phenomenal and for the first time the character acts exactly how it is written in the story! I got somewhat confused at the ending but it was still amazing. Thanks for posting.

  • Exsist a german version of this Video. It´s the geatest video i`ve ever see. Where I can downloade or buy this?

  • damn that raven sounds like Darth Vader

    saludos :)

  • I like this video. Is there any chance that parts 1 and 2 can be combined?
