  • Thats an awesome feat mate well done to you all hope you are all well and keeping busy you gave me a book on the visit and i tried and tried to get a gift sent to you but to no avail which i was both disappointed and disgusted at and embarrassed to be honest , i have read the book cover to cover on many occassions and 1 day if this illness rests for a while im coming up to meet you all again hopefully stay safe Mick and all the best to you all.

  • But isn't there a better way to launch the Lifeboat more quickly??. From when the lads are summoned it must take a long time to get going.

  • Excellent i still have the book you guys gave me , i was the only 1 in the St Ives Station at that time so we must of met, as i asked our then DLA to send you guys a StIves Station Flag.

  • Im an ex Lifeboatman and met the 2nd Mechanic on her , i had to retire due to parkinsons but my heart yonds to be back at it , from Sean at StIves to Sean i hope your all okay and keeping well ..

  • @MarineMick excellent news on being able to stay on Mick , was you one of the guys that came to StIves in Cornwall on your tour of all the stations approx 1999-2000.

  • @zrxsheep Yes indeed I was in St Ives on that tour. I organised it from the beginning in1997 and we just finished up this year in Isaly. We visited every station from Jersey to Aith over the years and had a mighty time.

  • It wasostly written by Phil Coulter and sung by Liam Clancy. I actually was part of the chorus at the recirding in Windmill Lane studios in Dublin almost 20 years ago

    Liam Clancy was a well known folk singer and died about 6 months ago. Regards,

  • The song was sung by Liam Clancy and the chorus (including myself) was made up of 64 Lifeboat crew.
