  • even though this is a really old video i just watched it and felt it was really cool that you took the time out of your day you actually apologize for that because most people would have just become offensive and such but you were open and honest even though I wasn't offended enough by the hair art review video to take it personally I still really can appreciate this video

  • Hi there! Listen hun don't worry about what people think. We all have an opinon and u r entitled to it. I like ur videos and u shouldn't let ur thought or feelings bother u cuz like everyone on this page leaving u comeents said "it's ur hair and ur thoughts" and "at the end of the day u r not ur hair"> Keep making ur videos and doing u forget the haters

  • Listen I'm natural, and I didn't take offense to it. I think Natural hair sisters need to get a thicker skin. I've been natural 3 times, and i absolutlely hate it. My hair type isn't great at all. i spend a ton on products, it takes me about 3 hours just to wash, deep condition, and then style. IT's time consuming. I think that people need to lighten up. We are a so called movement but get so offended if someone is either joking, or not with natural hair. Sometimes it's about preference.

  • I took it as she was joking, I actually chuckled. and I am natural have been but thats my choice. I agree with the person who says hair is just hair and its not the being of who I am. I see her sincerity and I pray that whatever situation she is in is well.

  • I DONT THINK U SHOULD HAVE APOLOGIZE TO ANYONE. YOU STATED YOUR OPINION AND IF THEY TOOK IT THE WRONG WAY THAN THE BLAME IS ON THEM. IM A CARING PERSON ALSO, BUT WHEN DID FREEDOM OF SPEECH BECOME SUCH A BIG PROBLEM. PEOPLE ARE SO EASILY HURT BY THE SMALLEST NOTHINGS....... I GUESS I WOULD NEVER UNDERSTAND. BUT LOVE YOUR HAIR AND HOW U ARE SO FUNNY. PLEASE DONT STOP DOING YOU BECAUSE OF NEGATIVE PEOPLE THAT WANT TO BE LIKE YOU!!!!

  • I would have never apologized. How you feel is how you feel and who cares if they don't feel the same way. It isn't their hair that you are talking about, it is your own.. You are free to say what you like and poo on them if they don't like it. I am transitioning to natural myself (about 7 months post relaxer currently) and I didn't find this offensive at all, because like you said, we don't all have a texture we feel comfortable with. What you say about and do with your hair is your choice.

  • You have an insecurity you must address on your own. However, that insecurity should never reach the ears of others who don't feel the same way. While this occurred a long time ago, I hope that you have grown to understand that "good" hair & "bad" hair don't exist. The God of your belief created this hair, for a scientific reason. This difference is a matter of superiority over the environment, not ugliness or inferiority. Learn to see yourself positively. Kinky hair is beautiful, its unique.

  • Im glad that you posted a response to your hair art video... I was going to post a question as to why you referred to your hair as you did... If you take time and research how to care for you hair in its natural state you may feel differently... Im natural and I wear my hair straight, no hassle, hardly any reverting and my hair is full thick and fabulous. thanks again for the reply

  • you can always stop comments and so what , what people say be yourself

  • Hi there.Greetings from a brown South African lady with ethnic hair.I think it was VERY brave of you to apoligise.I watched your video about the review and i enjoyed the way you flat iron your hair but not what you were saying. In my city there are too many brown woman who HATE their natural hair and if they had to watch the other video i think they would have been able to identify with what you are saying.I wanted to watch this vi before i commented.Your hair looks pretty either way.HugsfromS.A

  • i'm sorry people don't have life, everybody know dang on well with natural hair it is work, somebody tell me it aint they a lie because having to wet my hair or co-wash my hair and risk getting a cold cuz my hair is still somewhat WET i'm sorry they trippin i tried to wear my hair natural but for me it doesn't work i think you need time and patience to wear natural hairstyles i never relaxed my hair either but i'm quick to press it out soooo that's my opinion on that .. i didn't take a offense

  • WELL, i think whoever got offended was having their PMS because its not offensive, its not wrong, its just you being funny, i got that, i'm sure everyone did,

so those who decided to be all stuck up and take it personally. well, to hell with them.

theres no need for you to feel bad girl.

and to everyone out there listen to " i'm not my hair" by india irie.

  • @punkrockprinjess EXACTLY!!! at the end of the day .. its just hair ...

  • I just watched that video before this and I was very taken back by that comment. I am so glad you made this video to talk about it, that show the kind of person you are, that's great.

I have natural hair, I haven't worn it straight (via flat iron NEVER chemical) in almost two years. I work in a VERY predominantly white corporation and I have been promoted (not lateral) three times since March. My professionalism, competent work, and personality trump my hair texture *shrugs*

  • the only reason I'm still natural is because I'm not allowed to relax my hair yet, I straighten it and get extensions just because it's a pain to have real natural hair. I'm Nigerian my hair is a tough as it gets, it doesn't even go straight with 280 Celsius it just goes less 'nappy'. Personally I agree with the statement you made, not the way you said it but it's true right now afro hair does not look professional if someone can show my how to style it so it does, then I'll change my mind.

  • You're as beautiful on the inside as you are on the outside! Be happy :-)

  • I like your channel

  • So sweet.

    xoxo

  • Imo you shouldn't have to say sorry for your comment... it is so bloody obvious you didn't mean it with any harm. Some very very sad people in this world. They have nothing better to do xxx

  • I think it's cool that you did the apology video to anyone that you offended with your comment, but I don't think you meant any harm in saying what you said. I did not see the vid you refer to abt what you said about your hair looking homeless, but I'm sure you probably were making a joke. I am transitioning to natural hair and I make comments about my hair on occasion even though I love it a lot. Sometimes we say things innocently and don't really think of it as offending anyone else.

  • i am a new sub, i thought your hair was natural,or that you did the big chop, because your hair looks so even, and healthy...i heard the statement,,,but you didnt come across as a rude, a race hater...i didnt take it the wrong way....it should have been worded diffrenty...so girl let it go dont beat your self up about it...again you didnt come across as a sister that didnt like natural hair......its o k and over

  • am i the only person who found that funny?

    ''homeless person'' LMAOO

i got natural hair and if u dont style it, then obv its gunna not look right.. LOL

  • I wear my hair natrual... i feel you should do wats healthy and what makes you feel confident. Relaxed hair USE to make me feel confident... because it was all i knew... but i had to examine exactly why i had that negative veiw on something God had purposely given to me. My natrual hair(4a) is no harder than caring 4 my relaxed hair, except its much healthier. Best thing i've every done for myself:)

  • Hello. @ XXXMikeHonchoXXX: Your comment to this beautiful lady is so unnecessary & rude. If you don't have anything kind or inspirational to say to people, perhaps you shouldn't speak. Not cool. :-(

  • @mssonji1969 Thanks sweetie...I just deleted that ignorant message...it is what it is....

  • Hi Ajannasmom. Thank you for that most sincere apology. I wear my hair in its natural state, but I have not always been comfortable in doing so. To date, I get sick of my closest friends saying they like my hair better straight & that I need to go back to that style. It's annoying to hear the term 'nappy', but IIWII. I haven't straightened my hair in over a year, but if I do, it doesn't mean that I don't love my beautiful natural curls. Being natural, I am fortunate to rock both ways!

  • wonderful vid...u rock.. :)

  • Your hair looks gorgeous in this video! It's unfortunate you had to apologize for a small statement you made in jest. Why do we as AA women have to be soo sensitive about the subject of hair? When a white girl who has curly hair decides to straighten it do people ask her if she hates herself? NO. Why can't our hair just be our hair, and not some political symbol, historical link, or a means to "connect" with ourselves?--it's crazy, anyway im subbing:)

  • i agree. do what feels right to you, enough with the labels and pointing of the fingers, etc. live and let live, it is just hair after all. nah, hair is a big deal, lol, but its so political with AA women, not just AA women, but any ethnic women and men!

  • this is why i love love love wacthing ur videos...u r so sweet and i love ur hair

  • Hi,

I just wanted you to know I don't think you did anything wrong, and I wasn't offended!! I was agreeing with you, I was just commenting on how it is true, but it's also unfortunate :( I guess over the internet there's no tone to interpret. I love straightening my hair as well lol, I've had it relaxed before.

Please, don't feel badly about anything, you're such a wonderful and generous woman. I hope things get better for you right now!

  • Hey grl,

For starters, i agree w/ you, ( about the natural hair is an inconvienence thing) i dnt kno u personally & i knew that you didnt mean to offend anyone! Your hair is gorgeous and has grown so much! Kudos to you! i am on that same journey!

Dnt feel bad about sayin what you said! You kno that you didnt mean to hurt anyone & thats all that matters.. Also my deepest Condolences...you and your family are in my prayers!

Love ya grl and keep up the amazin work!

  • ajannasmom don't bother with them people take shit too personal ,your hair looks so nice and healthy and it's growing so much and how often do you relax have a grate holiday :)

  • ur such a beautiful person inside and out :)

  • Hey lady,

Hope you get well soon. And I strongly believe that you didn't mean to offend anyone with the comment you made. Love your videos and I 'm glad I found you on Youtube.

  • Hope everything gets better and you feel better about that situation! :)

Do what pleases you because it makes you feel better about yourself!!

    xoxo ariel

  • Oh and my hair is always poofy, I usually put it in a ponytail because no matter what I do it poofs out, Im going to keep it natural but just try my best to use different hair products to keep my hair the way I want it.

  • As a new YouTube subscriber, I must admit that I find myself subscribing to different channels for various reasons (i.e. subject matter, quality of information / presentation and the presenter's personality, charisma and heartfelt). You possess all of these qualities. You are so '4 real!' Hopefully your apology will be accepted. May God's grace and mercy 'keep' you doing this time in your life! He loves you, and so do I.....

  • May the piece of God be with you as you go through this trial.God Bess you Sis!

  • the comment was totally taken out of context. you were simply stating the difference in the textures. the video was great nonetheless!!!!

  • I hope that you get well. Love your videos

  • I'm also relaxed, and thanks for the flat iron information.

  • Your apology wasnt necessary but its ok. I feel that kinks was percieved in a negative tone. Thats the only reason why I made that comment. As for other people you have ur opinion about what I said as well. Girl Im not even fully natural. lol I keep see sawing between stretching relaxer and natural journey. A side note I was in Sally beauty supply and overheard a white lady comment about her oldest daughter having nap hair bc she didnt comb that day. So there is a huge misconception about blk hr

  • Trust and believe that whatever hairstyle works for YOU is beautiful!!...I struggle with my hair all the time.....and people say..."girl!..you got that good hair...stop using those chemicals"......but you cannot please everyone everyday...i do what I like for ME......and i commend you for putting this video out here on YT....Stay Strong through it all!!!

  • Anyone who was offended can tell how sincere you're apology is. Some people are too sensitive and take everything to heart like its some sort of personal attack.

  • I am newly natural and it's not that serious i am not a hair nazi so i have no problem with people who relax their hair and i totally understood what you where trying to say. If your goal is to have straight hair than of course i would be and issue for you if your new growth was apparent. i think the choice of anaology was harsh but i know you didn't mean any harm. any hoo gurl keep doing your thang!

  • Girl Please...I've been natural for about 15 years now, and am a college educated (well paid) businesswoman.

It was gracious of you to apologize...and for those who were offended... Don't Sweat the Small Stuff!

  • i love your videos regardless.....n by homeless u culdve meant a little crazy loookin or such not the other way it was thought.....you hve a very kind heart for doing this video though

  • i think your hair is nice hahah

  • I honestly dont think anything was wrong with the video and people are too sensitive. Although I didnt watch that video, why are people judging you on how YOU feel.... and I'm sure that a lot of people feel the same way too, thats exactly like I feel right now.... natural hair just wont work for me neither so, I understand.

Keep doing doing what you're doing and God bless.

  • I give props to you for apologizing, that take's a lot, but who ever was offended by it come on...get a flipping grip what the hell....you know what any who. I love your video's point blank because I learn a lot. I'm still gonna watch and rate and comment and ask question

  • U R beautiful and blessed. I loved the video UR refering to and needed the information. Hope all goes well for and with U soon. Remember never more than U can handle, hugs.

  • Kudos! You are so humble to admit if you offended someone. I believe I had mentioned to you that I was transitioning, but that doesn't stop me from watching you because it is obvious you have a head of healthy hair. And isn't that what it is all about? Having healthy hair no matter method a woman uses. I don't knock those ladies that rock their hair relaxed, natural, weave or wig. To each their own.

  • Aww Dinah, I hope whatever you are going through ends soon... God will take care of you...

  • you are so sweet and comign from a natural sister myself i definately do forgive you and applaud you for your time and effort it took to make this vieo in the first place....

  • well i hope whatever u are going thru passes quickly. and as for ur comments, i understand that it is easy to say something that other's are offended by. esp for sista's who are transitioning but not completely comfortable with their natural hair yet. it was perfect for u to apologize bc relaxed or natural, i don't think anyone feeling that u are "self-hating" is acceptable, when thats NOT at all what u meant. thx for the vid.

  • No problem.

You don't need to apologize for a simple mistake like that. Everyone says things they regret.

You're great though. Don't let it get you down.

And if you need to talk about what's happening this week, I'm a good listener. =]

    ~Laur

P.S. I love your hair like that... what did you do?

  • theyre just overreacting

if you said you have slave hair then they would of got mad

you were just trying to explain the difference

  • Your amazing. God bless you.

  • You are so humble and I applaud you on that! Most people wouldn't apologize because of their pride. But I understand what you mean. Be blessed!

  • its not like u styled it curly and than said it looked homeless, it wasn't styled and then u styled it so ya that would look professional. TRUST lol i love my curly hair to death but if i didn't style it than YES IT WOULD LOOK HOMELESS! people need to relax. people talking bout hate, what about self doubt, like why do you have to prove so bad that curly hair is good and take such offense when people arent even comin at you! if you know it, ladies keep it movin:)

  • it makes complete sense that u were just talking bout yourself! i personally believe some people take natural hair too seriously or believe that their better bc they chose to be natural and my hair is natural for the record and i use to rock it straight. its bout the individual, lifestyle, blah blah blah so i don't believe anyone should have been coming at u like that.

  • aw, i really do hope things

get better. you just keep hanging

in there. things always get better

& sometimes these are just "tests"

    from life.

    take care girl....

  • i get where u are coming from, its the same as a person be it whatever race they are and they have curly hair and straighten it or a person with straight hair getting a perm. or changing your hair color.

  • Wow. I love your spirit and I admire it. It takes a strong woman to do this. Most people would have taken on that "get over it" attitude, which can sometimes be perceived as selfish or outright stank. Thanks for being an example of how to handle youtube situations with grace and class. God bless you.

  • You can still edit it out of the video if you know how, it's really easy.

I have natural hair, I didnt see the video.

But I'm natural for a reason, chemicals, permining tend to make me loose my hair, twice now, so I'm natural all the way and staying that way in hopes that I get the healthy growth back that I use to have.

I don't put heat on my hair either. I just slick it back and go with my hair pieces :)

Nice video. You have a good heart.

  • really? I'm still new at editing...I totally understand your reason for being natural...thank you for your comment...this thing has been heavy on my heart...

  • Yes, I just learned how to edit video this past sunday. It's really easy, I'll send you the "how to video" that I found here on YT :)

God loves you and knows your heart, people will have to just understand you didnt mean the comment to come off the way it did that's all. At least you were woman enough to apologize.

    Sending you Big Hugs :)

  • Girl please there is so much going on in the world. I wouldn't have spent so much time explaining myself. If people watch your videos they know who you are a kind soul and you didn't mean nothing by that comment. You were giving your opinion not trying to hurt anyone. Hey I tried to go natural did it for a year and stopped this summer! Can't do it, I like to wash my hair 5 times a week . Thanks for the video but 3 mins was enough. Even an email to the individuals should have been enough. ;-)

  • I feel the same way you do about having relaxed hair.

Thank you for your tender conscience.

Keep up the good work and this too shall pass!

  • thanx Diva K...
