@darkdeaht7 as much as i hate putting music in genres (i even hate the term "music"... just say sound/noise/audio), if it's to be labeled anything, it'd be best to classify it as "dsbm" (depressive suicidal black metal), except that they utilize "clean" vocals, opposed to the usual raw, harsh vocals that are common to that particular genre. check them (and ALL metal bands... seriously, ALL metal bands!) at the metal-archives website. warning: that website will swallow your life.

Please leave metal out of this! Sure you can complain about labels, but subgeneras help people find the music they love. This is more in the gothic, darkwave, ethereal-wave , goth-rock, and neo-classical subgeneras, and there is a lot of crossover.

Not at all. It's just that the term metal is frequently overused in reference to gothic music. Many people go as far as to say that "it's not goth if it's not metal". This sadly excludes so many amazing subgeneras in gothic music. I just feel that this song is entirely lacking the distortion, and or screaming/shrieking vocals that are more frequently seen in dsbm. I do agree with you that there are a lot of common factors. That's what I meant when I spoke of a lot of crossover.
