I actually like it versus the stock sound. Tacomas always had this certain exhaust note that annoyed me. I like this one.

i have to 02 tacoma prerunner and i want flowmaster and would the muffler be as loud as the exhaust kit. and if not what is the diff? i want it to be loud but i want it to be not that expensive.

@ride2die812 If you just want it to be loud, just get the muffler and add a nice looking chrome tip on it. I have a 1998 taco and its got K&N FIPK air intake on it, flowmaster super 44 and all the piping. I chose to go with stock size pipes for better performance. Bigger exhaust pipe it is better but smaller pipe gives you more power. Check my video out, its with my chicken video.

@Thaigamefowl yea at auto zone they have the flowmaster muffler. and would it just as loud or close from geting the flowmaster from the cat back? the flowmaster i think is a supper 44?

@ride2die812 Yes, it is from Auto Zone and I took it to the muffler shop and have them installed from the cat back with 2.5 inch pipe(s) and a 3inch double wall tip. And yes, it is a super 44. The K&N makes a big difference on the exhaust note. It's up to you whether you want to run duals or single. I went with single and sounds great.

@ride2die812 It should, plus you got a bigger motor than I do. I got the 3.4L. Right after I had the super 44 on, it really turn heads. If you already put on an cold air intake like mine, it should sound good, but as you already know, every application is different from each other. Good luck and upload yours when its done.

Magnaflows really suck. I was at the exhaust shop 1 day and this guy suggested that i put magnaflow on mine and I just wanted to slap some sense into him. He probably was hating on me cause i knew about exhaust. I wanted to put a 10 series on my x-runner but the problem is that it isnt street legal. But boy does it sound mean as fuck!

Yeah you just cant match that V8 Rumble no matter how good your V6 is. I'm sure my 1992 Ford Econoline with the 5.0 V8 will sound way better then this thing if it had high flow mufflers.

the colorado is the only domestic offering i even gave slight consideration once it got the v8 cause that inline 5 really had me turned off. still aside from the v8 there's nothing i really liked about it. really came down to the frontier and the tacoma for me. don't know what route i want to go as far as exhaust is concerned for the taco.

lol if rangers were so great maybe ford would actually care enough to put out a new truck. the current ranger is over 15 years old. how about the resale values on them too. love my 09 TRD Sport. the big 3 may make good full size trucks, but their offerings in the midsize game are terrible.

And for the record I think the Ranger and Colorado/Canyon are fine. I especially like the Colorado and Canyon more now that they have a V8 option.

The Ranger has its niche. Tacomas,Frontiers and Dakotas are not "Compact" The Ranger is and some people prefer that. I pretty much have an appreciation for everything I dont hate.

I had a Blazer with the 4.3 V6 with a Magna flow muffler and it sounded great.

My dads happy with the sound though and thats all that matters since its his =P

It all depends on the muffler. I've got a 24" Magnaflow and it's pretty deep. Plus this isn't a great quality video so you can't get the true sound.

I had a Magnaflow on my Sierra with a 305 V8 and no cat, it was the deepest toned 305 you'd ever heard and sounded so mean.
