Knowing a little about the case it sure looks like a "hate crime" to me. The DA Jeff Reisig ran his campaign in Davis largely promising aggresive prosecution of hate crimes. I'd think he'd like to weigh in on this if his campaign was more than "hot air". So far I've seen nada.

That's insane. That council just blew him off like it was a trivial zoning matter, or a debate over a new stop light. They seemed annoyed he was even uppity enough to say anything. Oooh...
