Judo is clothes on wrestling... Judo self defense goshinjitsu kata has 3 disarms vs revolver techniques.
These moves are adapted for police, made easier here, except the explanation in the video is sanitized for the public! You snap the trigger finger in the moves!
All you have to doin a tight spot ! I can affirm that this technique was still being taught in 1971 even in North America. The old wrist twist ..... etc. the Sgt would say. What it never prepared a copper for, was when the Hood Ganstas started blasting at you from 40 yards away with hot automatics! HOLY SHIT. ;-) That is the reality of today.
@cou5555 If they are shooting at you from 40 yards away, your first priority is to get behind solid cover, i.e. an engine block or a couple of feet of concrete. However ones first instinct, if armed, is to return fire. This usually a very, very bad idea. British Police still patrol without firearms and as a consequence there are less police fatalities and less people, innocent or otherwise, killed by the police. Nice video.
Bad ass for an old black and white! Clean osoto-gari in the 1st hold up, and awesome how he finishes with the arm bar in the 2nd. As a wrestler, judoka, and BJJer 2 thumbs up and Lmao... I was so sure it would be some corny old footage.
tae kwondo classes I take we practice some of the same things with a wooden knife, but my question is what do you do when your back is turned with the gun at your back and you turn to find out the guy with the gun has the opposite hand out intead of the one you were thinking, I guess you'll have to make sure you look first since thats what we learned! =D
and a couple of swift chops to the neck has him all ready for sunday lunch
