Being the Captain of your sports team in high school doesnt mean you are the best player on that team, it means you are the most capable leader, someone you want to lead you and so on. The guy was most likely voted to be the Captain by his team mates.

dude r u kidding me when we played this team #5 did not do shit all he does is shoot 3s hes the last one down to run the court and cannot play defense for shit. and yes again we played this team the only good players they have are the other captain and their 7'2 center as well as ther F/SG some foreign recruit named Ignas or something, jersey #12. #5 is bullshit i hope the coach has a good excuse for why he is captain.
