  • I drive a Thunderbird!! Wish it was a jet though haha

  • @metaljake87 soup up the engine enough and you'll get pretty close lol

  • @metaljake87 Just put a jet engine in it!

  • -salutes to the US air force- god's speed men and god bless our soilders

  • Navy can have the sea

  • eh f-15 looks like the most generic look ever. im just giving an opinion not trying to make you mad. but i like the F-22

  • @cowman602 It's bad enough this song already reminds me of the Transformers Seekers, Then I find this video, and see that the Thunderbirds have Starscream's colors (though not the same places), and then you are comparing f15 to f22? lol

  • @princessbeffer Sorry but I have no idea what Transformer Seekers are,but this song is from the soundtrack to Top Gun,the real start of the movie was the NAVYs F/14 Tomcat, the most beautiful jet of her time&in my opinion she still is.

Comparing jets whether they are F/14s or F/22s is like comparing apples&oranges. Each are unique in their own way, they ALL have their capabilities&problems, but once they're inflight...Let's face it,they're ALL beautiful&VERY real unlike Transformers!

  • @wschwab8890 oh, I agree that real planes are more beautiful, only because they are real. Seekers in Transformers are the robots that transform into jet planes. Starscream, the most popular character of that category, transformed into an F15 in the original series, and an F22 in the live action movies. And I know this song is from Top Gun. Tom Cruise is a major hottie!

  • Lol Ever hear of the Sabre Dance? Look it up on you tube. And, it was the first of the century series fighters, and only half as fast as the 106, and a much shorter service life. The F-106 is listed as the finest aircraft of the "Century Series" and the last. It carried it's stores internally, and fired a nuclear falcon which would devastate formations of TU-95 Bear bombers.

  • I've been to both of their shows many times (Blue Angels/Thunderbirds) and they are both great. But in my never to be humble opinion the T-Birds put on a little bit better show. The flight skills of both are unsurpassed, but the Angels are extremely military in their demeanor, while the T-Birds are a little more fun oriented. Love them both. Also. Best looking jet ever? F-4 Phantom, hands down. Not even close.

  • @Rikki0 My dear friend, though I understand your opinion, i must say you are mistaken. The Best looking jet ever has got to be simply the F-15 Eagle.

  • @Tu49 Weeell, I must admit to being somewhat bigoted. The F-4's got my person out of a few very serious situations in Vietnam. They were beautiful beyond belief then and I still love them. But yeah, that F-15, if you dress it up a little you could take it out. Heh.

    Semper Fi, my friend.

    5th Marines 2/1 Vietnam 69-71

  • @Tu49 both of yall are wrong its obviously the A-4M skyhawk 2

  • @Tu49 You, my friend, must not be familiar with the F-106 which, was voted by many pilots, to be not only the sexiest looking, but the best interceptor ever produced. Although replaced by the F-15, she still holds the world speed record for single engine jets, at mach 2.4! 1,526 MPH! Impressive to this day! Also looks like she is doing mach 2 sitting on the ramp! The last aircraft, to be built purely as an interceptor.

  • @ConvairDart106 My friend my friend, i must disagree, if we are to talk about sexy airplanes, F-100 hands down. sleek fast, manuverable, if it could clean and cook i'd even marry it and i never flew it (yet)

  • Air Force Football - Navy Football

    Thunderbirds - Blue Angels

Thunderbirds fly faster in formation and put on a better show. I don't give a shit about 18 inches, in the 90s Tbirds flew 12 inches until they hit and got a restriction!! I also don't care that blue angels land on carriers!! Also Air Force went to the Moon. No offense to navy, both are awesome

  • @MrThatsYe Dude, YOU my friend, are a retard!! NASA has drawn pilots from all branches of the service, minus the army!!! And, only because they don't have any jet jocks!

  • I grew up with T-38's

  • you realize this song was used in Top gun, a NAVY based movie right?

    lol just saying

  • This song will always be linked to fighter planes.

  • That last pic was a tribute to the armed forces done in AZ i think. And yes angels and Birds do fly together for those things but never for a full show. I grew up on Randolph AFB and both were there for the Vets day during the first gulf war in 91

  • In the last pic the angels are flying with the thunderbirds. I read on blue angel website the military won't let them within like 100 miles or something like that. This true?

  • @USAF1001 It was on the Angel's website?? Times may have changes, but last time I heard, the Angels and Birds don't cross paths cuz where the Birds fly (Air Force bases), the Angels usually don' t (cuz the are NAVY). Also, I read that they have a Thunderbirds vs. Blue Angels softball game very year.

  • @gounderus Then why do the Angls fly Andrews AFB every other year if they don't fly AFBs.Someone has been feeding you some bad information,my friend! The Angels(who ARE better)do fly at AFBs as well as civilian air shows,They will be there this May for the Air Show&so will I.Check their schedule @ blueangels.navy.mil/show/

There's A LOT of history w/the Angels,it was ADM Nimitz in Apr '46(I believe it was '46) that gave the order to begin what became the Blue Angels...

  • @wschwab8890 Ohhhhhkaaay, feel better? Wow.

  • @wschwab8890 Let's put it this way: The Angels and Birds should BOTH be saluted and praised, for they represent the BEST of our brave men and women of our great military Both teams were made to remind people of the extraordinary people that serve and the state of the art equipment they use to keep out freedom. For that alone - BOTH are great and do their duty. It's not about who's better Air Forve or Navy - it's what country is the best? The United States of America.

  • i love seeing these fly by after school cuz their final is right next to the school and they come in low with the B-1b bomber. Very nice planes.

  • For now, the game is to the advantage of Mirage 2000 .)

  • You forgot to post any Thunderbird pics with the T-38's

  • Thanks for the great images of the F-4 Phantom & the other legacy aircraft.

  • When The Thunderbirds can trap on a carrier deck, then they will be as good as The Blue Angels.

  • 22 people are fans of blue angels

  • @hawk0920 And damn proud to be because the Angels ARE better!!!!!!

  • where is the T38 ????????

  • beutifool join formation

  • Them boys would kick my ass at flying anyday. LOL

  • Q: are US air force pilots, not navy pilots, trained to land on an aircraft carrier?

  • @MrSnobby24

Only under certain circumstances, but 99% are not.

  • The F-4s eat too much JP for today's DOD. Plus the Phantoms are about 40 years of airframe times. Even one would be a pretty massive refit, rebuild.

  • They should have an F-16 demonstration team and an F-4 demonstration team.

  • usaf and usn both have great shows

  • will be attending the airshow at lackland Saturday i'm so excited we go every year!!

  • Comment removed

  • needs video footage not just pictures

  • how many diff jets did the thunderbirds use from past to present?

  • @mechanic7866 They used i think five different jets

  • are the thunderbirds better than the blue angels?

  • @snatchhog depends on which branch you like

  • @snatchhog It's honest opinion it think so cause im an air force guy but i live in the home town of the blues so i love them both, afterall we're all fighting for the same thing

  • @snatchhog they are a little bit different. they both respresent the top pilots in the world.

  • is it me or does the F-4 look good in thunderbird paint scheme?

and why is the airforce flying a navy jet???

  • @snatchhog I've heard opinions that go both ways... I personally admire the history and tradition behind the Thunderbirds. Once a Thunderbird, Always a Thunderbird!

  • @Kanduece cool,I like that....once a thunderbird always a thunderbird! THANKS

  • @snatchhog You're welcome, sir!

  • @Kanduece Once you're a jet, you're a jet all the way from your first cigarette to your last dying day.

Sorry, couldn't pass up a WSS quote.

  • @snatchhog Thunderbirds are USAF pilots while the Blue Angles are navy

  • @snatchhog By a LLLLOOOONNNNGGGG Shot

  • @snatchhog i perfer thunderbirds but its personal preference

  • @snatchhog YES.

  • @snatchhog they are def more skillled.. they do way more than the blue angels but im not an air force fan lol

  • @northerncustomsracin no if u see the whole blue angel show on a Clears sunny day. they kick the Thunderbirds Ass

  • @snatchhog idk yes no yes no idk

  • @snatchhog yes, Thunderbirds are Air Force. I mean come on, what kind of sense does a bumper sticker that says "Fly Navy" make?

  • @snatchhog ......a lot of the moves you see are actual dog fighting skills military pilots learn...the teams just learn to do them at extreme close distance.... with one or two "only we do this" moves that separate the Angels and Birds....when they do the show (once in a blue moon) together....they are able to do the shows together because of the like training.... like stated by Snatchhog...all depends on which branch you like more... but they are very close in quality and performance....

  • @snatchhog Personally i have always thought the Falcon to be a "sexier" looking aircraft, but the Hornet is closer to matching the Eagle in capability. And, only now with the Raptor does the Eagle have any competition.

  • @snatchhog fuck no.

  • @snatchhog yes

  • youre the best

  • @dariali20009 No, i just get good ratings

  • THUNDERBIRDS FTW

  • Snowbirds are cooler !

  • @TheThruster24 Bull!

  • @TheThruster24 snowbirds...hahahaha!!...what do their planes run on..Molson ehh?

  • @malangsob no they just flap their wings

  • what a great collection of pics!

  • @NikitasGuitars most are a collection from Mike Jacobson and others i was unable to put my own thunderbird pics into them.

  • That's just wrong! Putting a Navy song on a U.S.A.F. video.

  • @hutigg I agree! This song will ALWAY be connected to the F/14 tomcat & Top Gun. Let's face it, the NAVY will always have the best pilots & aircraft. And I'm an ARMY wife, but I trust my husbands life is safe when the NAVY is flying him, not when the AF is. I cringe & pray even harder when I know the AF is & it IS from personal experience w/both branches. NAVY is just better & has ALWAYS delivered my husband safely while the AF has not & I'm talking about 26yrs of flying...

  • Nice to see some of the older planes but you forgot the T-38!

  • Supposedly when the 16 has had its last day in the sun they're gunna use the raptor for the thuderbirds and THAT my friends will be an insane show. i can't wait to see some of the formaions they'll be able to fly with that beasts capabilities

  • Funny, a song from a film about Navy aviation for a t-birds slideshow....... :-)

The Phantom was the best jet the Birds ever flew. It was big, crazy loud and it was super impressive to see those pilots fly these big, honking jets that look like they should have thousand foot seperation in a formation that might have two foot clearance between your tail and your wingmates belly. The F-4 divers were some of the best ever. Getting that jet to do that stuff must have been taough.

  • I still believe that the Navy Blue Angels are still the best!!!!

  • I still think the F16 is one of the best looking planes around :)

  • @Nickshark1982 i agree

  • yeah me too

  • Comment removed

  • Too bad you didn't show any of their T-38's on here.....Fantastic pics though.. A little trivia for you. The Thunderbirds had a pilot named "Hoss" Jones. His brother Bert was the quaterback for the Colts.

  • must hav been hard to do these aerobatic in the f-4's not good mobibality, kool vid dude

  • can somebody please tell me what the move at 1:52 is called

  • I'm not posotive but I believe its called the Opposing Knife-Edge Pass, and it is performed by the number 5 and 6 aircraft.

  • they are so cool

  • I wish I could do this, so bad. But my eye vision isn't good enough.

  • I'm pretty sure they allow LASIK.

  • Not LASIK. Military does PRK. Similar, but better...

  • wow that must be the worst thing ever :S i dream of this too :)

  • If you complete all the requirements Air Force will pay for it. My vision wasn't that great when i joined ROTC

  • AirForce will pay for Laser Eye Surgery for you if you really wanna join.

  • Actually even with bad vision you can become a fighter pilot. Air Force does not allow eye surgery, however once you graduate from OTS they allow you to get Lasik eye surgery from Air Force doctors. They do not allow it when it is performed by Civilian Doctors

  • oh ok cause i dont have good eye vision lol whats lasik eye surgery like contacts?

  • It's where they actually reshape the eye to it's original shape and restore vision.

  • Not that I've heard.

  • THATS GOOD I WHANT 2 BE IN THE AIRFORCE TO I WHANT TO FLY F-5e TIGER II

  • the tiger is an awesome fighter

  • how the hell you plan on fllying a plane that isn't even operational anymore??

  • What are you talking about? The F-16C and F-16D are both still in use.

  • In two years it's going to go out of service and be replaced by the F-35C Lighting.

  • the F-35C Lighting is gonna be in service for 40 years! 40! lol i find that funny cause the f-35 will be way outdated by then

  • Information that far ahead isn't available to the public yet. How do you know this?

  • cause one day i'm gonna be flying it and i did research and i've been following the JSF program

  • Excellent, do you know what it takes to even be able to be a pilot though?

  • yea, need to have good physical and mental attributes recccomendation from ROTC commanding officer 4 year college degree, Have current distance vision of 20/70 or better,do good on the AFOQT, and 28.5+ yrs of age

  • the eye vision needs to be 20/20 or better and There is no age restriction, just as long as you are an Officer and pass the other qualifications.

  • hey allot of ppl probably said the same about the f15

  • in case you didnt know I am in the us airforce.

  • hey me too

  • stupid lol you don't know this tune??????? its top gun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! duh the fighter plane movie with that hotshot tom cruise!!!! he flew an f-14 i fly an f-16

  • NOOOOOO!!!

this is a Navy theme song!!

  • its an air combat song it doesn't matter who it plays for as long as it is for air power

  • navy is the sea force(im greek)?

  • yes navy is sea force they do have fighter jets on aircraft carriers and the sort

  • legal!!!!

  • what?

  • Great... and five stars for this. It's great being an aircraft nut .... isn't it?

  • that would be so sick if they used the raptor

  • When did they use F-105's?!!??

  • back in the 70's i think

  • i feel lucky to have seen Thunderbirds and Blue Angels... and im from sweden;-)

  • well we are the best

  • Comment removed

  • Interesting. I didn't know the thunderbirds used to be F-4 Phantoms. Cool!

  • so did the angels, see my Blue angels vid i got a good picture of both Blue angels and Thunder birds F-4s in the same frame, thanks to Boeing picture gallery

  • F 16 And F 18's are the most common airshow jets to this day

  • my uncle was in the thunderbirds

  • honestly how many people here new that the USAF Thunderbirds used to be F-1 phantoms before they became F-16 falcons?

  • don't you mean f-4 phantoms not f-1 phantoms

  • yeah that's what i ment must have been typing fast

  • I knew! I also know that the f-4 is the only aircraft the Thunderbirds and Blue Angels shared

  • well actually theres lots more (i didnt know these all by heart just checked on wikipeddia) i knew the last three but theres alot more than three plane that they used 1953-1954 F-84G thunderjet 1954-1956 F-84F thunderstreak 1956-1963 F-100C supersabre 1964 F-105B thunderchief 1964-1968 F-100D super sabre 1969-1973 F-4E phantom II 1974-1981 T-38 talon 1982-to present day f-16's
  • Well what I meant to say was that the F-4 was the only aircraft the Blue Angels and Thunderbirds used that were the same kind. I'm not saying that it was the only aircraft the Thunderbirds used.

  • yeah,

i understood that i was just saying that to all ppl who had commented on this vid asking if anyone knew that they used this aircraft, or this airccraft it wasnt completely directed to you

  • wat do yo reckon the thunderbirds will use next

  • well looking at the fact that its the thunderbirds represent the USAF

i think that they will move to the f-22

    but i dont see why

because the f-16 is a great plane and looks very nice the f-22 has supermanuverability but i dont know it would be weird getting rid of the f-16

and if they do switch i think it would be

    f-22

    maybe even the f-35

    who knows?!?!

  • i dont think so, f 22 is to big and f-35 is to slow and big. to do this kind of show flying. and the F-25 can also start to vibrate pretty heavy compared to others,. atleast what i heard from the pilots i know...

one day im gonna miss the look of the F-16 so hard, nothing wll ever be a such big success again

tbh i think they will stay to the F-16 for manymanymany years.

  • yeh i guess your right about size

f-22 is better for single person air shows

    but yeh f-16 is legendary

  • They'll use the F-35, its more then capable enough. If you look at it, its cool because of the sleekness in the design, plus the vertical take off would be a good crowd pleaser.

It should be better then the f-16 just because its next generation, and size shouldn't be an issue, the f-35's a single engine aircraft also.

  • yea had to be something before the f-16

  • f4 phantoms and they also used to be f80 sabres too

  • What is the song

  • kenny loggins-danger zone

  • Blue Angels put on a better show IMHO. Still the T-Birds are pretty impressive. I would have loved to have see either one of them when they were flying the F-4 PHANTOMS.

  • still not as good as the red arrows but oone if the best in the world

  • I admit the Red Arrows are the best but fly trainers. THunderbirds fly combat aircraft pulled from active squadrons.

  • whats that manuver where the plane on top is upside down and the plane on bottom is right side up?

  • Its called "the Calipso Pass"

  • its called the mirror

  • Right right thanks

  • I didnt know that either

  • i dident know they flew F-100's and F-89's

  • i wanna ride! i love the thunderbird's

  • Thunderbirds 4 life

  • awsome

  • why are there seven f-4s instead of 6 which was usually in their airshow

  • The thunderbirds back then flew all seven of their birds

  • oh, now they are all friends of mine, so are the blue angels

  • think they r flying raptors now

  • nope still F-16

  • okay ment i saw a raptor once not too long ago but my wrong

  • no but they are talking about adapting ro raptors in 2011 (just gossip i heard)

  • i heard it from the pilots and ground crew its gonna happen soon man

  • is that a saber?

  • T H R I L L I N G !

  • Nice pictures of them in the F-4.

  • awesome!

  • great video man. some crazy pics of the old thunderbirds!! good shit

  • well thank you
