I did this one time with a friend only we used a glass bottle....it exploded in the air after I threw it away...lucky the glass didn't put my eye out.
The water inside the bottle causes the dry ice to quickly turn into gas, it happens fast enough to expand the bottle causing it to rip at the seams. The plastic expands quite a lot so once it finally rips, there is a hell of a lot of pressure in there.
@Izzzyb415 the air around the dry ice is warmer than the dry ice making it turn into gas which takes up more space inside the bottle. im 14 just gunna be a freshman so dont be a dick if its not exactly what happens.
