@popomczowzow Before that he said "can" and followed it up by saying "if you know what you're doing." It took me about double that on my first playthrough, and that's not including the times I died and had to reload my game from my last save.

@omgalreadyinuse Yes; there are quicker swords, there are axes, spears, knives, knuckles, various long-range weapons, all of which have varying speeds, though the slower weapons tend to be more powerful.

The way i would rate the games by which one i liked in order would be PoR OoE and DoS DoS is last because it was boring during the beginning so i stopped PoR first because i actually beat it OoE second because i almost beat dracula but kept losing

@epyan12 haha, no offense, but dont be such a sore loser. beating the game or lack there of, shouldnt determine how its rated. the mechanics, difficulty, visuals, etc should be rated. you pop the game into a cheating device and beat the game instantly, but it doesnt mean it was great.

I recommend you play Castlevania Portrait of Ruin.Coz you cant use the vampire killer in the first place but later you will challenge Simon Belmont to unlock its true power.

I'm just now getting into Castlevania, so I'm so confused on everything. I know this wouldn't be where to start( I'm getting it for my bro) but can someone tell me all of the good ones and what order I should play them?

Dude its kind of hard to give an order other than chronological: so they are: Castlevania 1 (Nes-VC) Castlevania 2 Nes-VC) Castlevania 3 (Nes-VC), Super Castlevania (SNES-VC), Blood lines (Genesis), Symphony of the Night (PSX-PSN), Aria of sorrows (GBA), and the 3 for DS.

Out of these I suggest Castlevania 3, Super castlevania, Bloodlines and SOTN in that order. They are great examples of this series and have fun gameplay. The others are good too but these are the best.

Yeah, what imrannova said. Only problem is the first 3 Castlevanias can be extremely frusterating. So if you're not an expert already in sidescrolling action, I'd suggest Super Castlevania IV, SOTN, or Harmony of Dissidance (GBA). Super Castlevania IV is linear and you play through the levels in a row. SOTN and HoD is more of a Metroid game where you can explore Dracula's Castle and go where ever you want.

There's no order. Hell, my first Castlevania was Circle of the Moon. I just play whichever I'm interested in. There's really no grand plot or anything.

Castlevania games are all about awesome gameplay, not so much story.

This game... I didn´t like it very much in the beginning it was okay. But later on you need to collect souls that´s hard to know wich one it is. I only got the bad ending, like when he collapses after deafeting the mirror boss. Never really liked this game tough i like others castlevania, but if your a Castlevnia fan and must have every game in the franchise have fun. I give this 7/10 overall. Ps, the music is awesome and the opening.

I'd say Portrait of Ruin is the best DS one.

Dawn of Sorrow is good, but those symbols you have to draw where just an irritating gimmick, that with me lead to unnecessary frustration on some of the later bosses, even though I did get through them, those glyphs where an annoyance.

Order of Ecclesia is good, but very... quirky in the way it plays. I think its a matter of taste. I found it's fighting system a cool concept, but a little on the akward side to use.

Well...getting both is the best option but if you can't, then get Order of Ecclesia. OoE is a refined version of the Castlevania DS games and it's very very fun. Dawn of Sorrow is great as well but collecting souls can be a pain sometimes. =/ OoE has a higher drop rate so you won't need to kill a monster a million times before you get your items and etc.

@Roopa132 go to doperoms.com download Castlevania for the NES then play Super Castlevania 4 for the NES which is in my opinion the GREATEST castlevania game ever. the reason im telling you this is, the DS casltevania games are so off the original series its hard to tell but still its amazing castlevania.
