If there was prior knowledge of the attack, as this author claims, why did the Mig pilots were indictedin US courts? They were just carrying out orders. If there is any evidence that the highest level of the Cuban government was aware of an inpending attack before this occured--as this writer wants to portray--then the pilots are being charged by the US government as scape goats. Again, I saw nothing in the clip which suggests any qualifications other than claiming you have flown those flights many times. My main issue is with your statements both false and misleading that suggest that these groups did not violate Cuban airspace with the audacity to brag about it and film it as well. The US govt warned BTTR about violating Cuban airspace between 94-96. Cuban airspace was violated on the day of the shootdown. This fact is not contested, and even BTTR admits this.

You also contested my claims about the rationale behind the existence of BTTR. The organization was founded by CIA trained Bay of Pigs veterans. The founder admitted that they were set up to disrupt the Cuban govt. Need I quote directly from him? In the end the US probably wanted the shootdown to happen so that they could pin some bad publicity on the Cubans.

The Cubans warned these anti-Castro Cuban Americans to stay out of their airspace. It was violated on that day, They called themselves a humanitarian organization, and nothing could be further from the truth. It is also disputed to this day whether these shootdowns were in international or Cuban waters.

The BTTR did not exist to "harass the Cuban government", the saved lives. BTTR did not "frequently enter Cuban airspace", research found 2 incursions, the fact that Cuba's DI operated with impunity in the U.S.A. and had a spy secretly working in the DIA matters greatly. I am not familiiar enough with the other case you reference to speak on it. It is against international law to use military aircraft to down civilian aircraft....that is what Cuba did.

Your illlusions as to the rational and mission of BTTR betray your anti Cuba ideologies that you share with the Cuban-American community in South Florida. No research can definitively conclude the numerous airspace incursions by these disgruntled ex Cubans, furthermore, they themselves admitted to flying off the coast of that country and dropping politically charged propaganda leaflets. BTTR was either directed by or egged on by the same types who were Bay of Pigs veterans.

Former Batistas and counter revolutionaries who murdered and tortured peasants, helped the CIA drop Napalm on cane fields and bomb sugar factories as the revolution was unfolding in the early 1960's.
