Don't get me wrong I'm not against steroids at all. As a bachelor of science student studying biology and chemistry I think that the media makes them look way too bad just because of a few people who abuse this substance. Other than that its not as bad as they force you to think it is; they make it look so bad just so you never try it.
I do however believe that roids are performance enhancing to an extent where they should be illegal IN SPORTS.

That's alright providing that the athlete does it in a controlled manner and does not elevate his testosterone levels anywhere past the anything considered to be normal (unlike Nate Marquardt).
If an athlete does takes roids because of a medical condition to be normal then I don't consider that to be performance enhancing however, as you might be pointing out, in today's world there are always loop holes and ppl will always find ways to abuse their rights/resources

I've been training since I was 16 and I'm 19 now (nearly 20). I look nothing remotely close to him which of course isn't by any means proof that he was taking steroids but I know a couple of guys (my age) who are tad less ripped than Vitor and they use steroids. To my knowledge, Vitor also got busted for steroid use once in 2006 -> Pride 32.
I still have nothing but respect for this fighter so don't take me wrong

The normal thing is that you go up in weight during your career.
Look at powerlifters, they dont exactly have their prime at 19.

I'm referring to when he was 19 years old/how he looks in this video.
The type of steroids that Vitor was probably given in his recent drug allegations are corticosteroids and not anabolic ones; hence they have no performance enhancing values or little if any.

+ I'm 19 years old and have been training my butt off at the gym for 2 years and am certainly no where as close as he did.
He also recently did have a run in with the commision for some illegal substance but it's unclear what he was really doing.

Don't get me wrong I'm not against steroids at all. As a bachelor of science student studying biology and chemistry I think that the media makes them look way too bad just because of a few people who abuse this substance. Other than that its not as bad as they force you to think it is; they make it look so bad just so you never try it.
I do however believe that roids are performance enhancing to an extent where they should be illegal IN SPORTS.
Just my opinion

That's alright providing that the athlete does it in a controlled manner and does not elevate his testosterone levels anywhere past the anything considered to be normal (unlike Nate Marquardt).
If an athlete does takes roids because of a medical condition to be normal then I don't consider that to be performance enhancing however, as you might be pointing out, in today's world there are always loop holes and ppl will always find ways to abuse their rights/resources

Possibly yeah, if you have good genetics, train hard and eat well.
I've been training since I was 16 and I'm 19 now (nearly 20). I look nothing remotely close to him which of course isn't by any means proof that he was taking steroids but I know a couple of guys (my age) who are tad less ripped than Vitor and they use steroids. To my knowledge, Vitor also got busted for steroid use once in 2006 -> Pride 32.
I still have nothing but respect for this fighter so don't take me wrong

@xRaIDeNx69 thats way in 06 tho he may have felt himself slowing down at that point. but i mean dude... 19 is a good age to be built like that. start in highschool man and just get ripped. thats wut i did. i mean got al ittle lazy at the end but if i hadnt i culda looked like him easy. i know guys who r clean and were that ripped at 17 and so. its genetics and how u trian. u'll be suprised at hwo much smal differences in trianing wll help out.
