Awesome... i'm thinking about getting the sportster to next year...
And those Pipes are exactly the Vance & hines one i want .. but due to European law i have to be 20 to use those Pipes but i can use the bike itself next year :S
Well the actual restriction is horsepowers so by European law you can't drive a harley until you're 20 ( unless you never had a license = 21 ) .. But if i strangle it to 35 horse powers i can use it at 18+...
So it's the 883 for sure
But once i turn 20 i can put these... ( best pipes ) on the bike :)
Btw. how many horsepowers are there in the 883 original ?... I talked to a harley davidson mechanican and he told me it was no problem to use and strangle a harley..
good on you mate. but no matter what. what you have is a very nice looking bike and it sounds great. my bike is pretty loud too and there are people who told me that...my response to them.....a smile.
OK cool, I just got my pipes the other day and plan on putting them on this week sometime! My bike already has the Stage One stuff with the Screamin Eagle 2 slip on pipes which sound nice but I really like the look of the Sideshots, and they sound so bad-ass too. Thanks for the info.
Nice ride! I have the same bike as you and I am just about to put those pipes on my bike. You said that you dont have Baffles in the pipes? Did that lower your low end torque? Or are you using something else for the torque loss?
It actually raised it I would say, these pipes are performance pipes by v@h Although I took the baffels out it still increased my performance just a tad,....but I am more about sound then speed :) They do sound loud still with baffels in though.
but to answer your question, no it did not lower the torque.
Since I posted this video I have added an Screamin Eagel airkit and rejeted my carb, Which is the best investment I have done.
Does running without baffles hurt your mid range much? Hows the top end feel?

its a good bike plenty of power, I recomend the 1200 compared to the 883 for sure!
Also sucks about the pipes in your law, but hey once your turn 20 then let go of the stock and throw on the pipes :D
best of luck to you

I think a 883 stock has roughly 50 horsepower (maybe a bit higher)
I wonder if your aloud to put a limiter on your bike, (which limits how much power you can get)

Would you think it's easy to put a Softail Seat on a Sportster ? i was thinking about it for the comfort.. once a year i drive about 2000 km

Hmm honestly I dont know, that'll be something you have to ask your local harley shop about? Or start a forum post on a sportster page.
