The difference is that a bi-turbo system uses 2 turbos which are independent of each other, while a twin turbo system is when you have a smaller turbo feeding a larger turbo (small turbo is used to reduce lag). Correct me anyone if I'm wrong.

The words don't mean anything, bi and twin mean the same thing. The systems you're describing are parallel and sequential twin-turbocharging. "Bi" and "Twin" are use loosely by different automotive makers. Just take the Audi S4 2.7 "bi turbo" for example, both turbos are run in parallel. Just thought I'd clear that up.
