@GregCapin Awesome ^_^. Have you heard the new stuff from PWEI? there's a few tracks on youtube, the album's called New Noise Designed By A Sadist (2011)
Once upon a time there was a magazine called The Face, and all the cool kids read it. On their March 1989 cover they asked "DID DEPECHE MODE DETONATE HOUSE?" referring of course to the funky club craze. Well,no they didn't,and neither did this track, but Pop Will Eat itself were a year ahead of the Mode and a year behind the KLF in showing their imitators how it was done, using cheap Roland technology 303,808,909 and D50 to go from bedroom to warehouse in a matter of hours. Cheers!
@SpiritOf1989 You've nailed it on the fucking head. PWEI were considered 'ahead of their time' often, not because they were moguls of ingenuity, but they simply mashed the influences they enjoyed cross-genre. They were brash and juvenile, because they....fucking could be. They were described as comic book and cartoonish. Who's laughing now, history?

I see the lyrics of this track as being the basis of PWEI's musical philosophy, and what a fun ride it was.

Box Frenzy was contemporary with the early KLF stuff, but a bit behind Big Audio Dynamite. So not 100% original, but still bleeding edge.
