  • That kid on the fiddle shows every sign of being as good as Roy Clark... and he's great.

  • Damn!!!! Old Crow Medicine show's the real deal!!! i can play this over and over again and never get tired of it. I can just sit there and watch that boy play that violin!!

    ooooohhhhhwee!!

  • what up OCMS in St.Aug!!!!

  • very good there are only a few bands that can play like that

  • I wish they did the dead's version... but still... OCMS is DANK!

  • @joshmasters420- i thought the exact opposite thing when i saw this.. keep it old time boys. i would have been disappointed in old crow if they did the dead version

  • why fuck

  • Hi , there are a couple of 'fire on the mountain songs'. One is by Charlie Daniels, and it has 'the devil went down to Georgia' in it. Then, there's the version

Check out "Fire on the Mountain, Run boys Run", which is similar to the OCMS version done by The Hillbilly Gypsies. The one that our band does is the Grateful Dead song "Fire on the Mountain" (and there's fire on the mountain, lightning in the air... gold in them hills and it's waitin for me there....."

  • @NeecySheffer One of the best versions was by Scotty Stoneman.

  • @NeecySheffer Hillbilly Gypsies are the very best that West by God has to offer!

  • yeah, OCMS is one of the best bands since CDB-they need to release a second CD!

they are all getting better w/time-just like wine

  • i like these guys, but this is a bad song...way way way too fast...they cant keep up and the harmony gets losts in the mix...basically this one is only good to give you a head ache. SAd considering they made song great songs (wagon wheels, take a load off cover with Gilian welch)

  • I got my pennies rolled up an gwoan cash 'em in at them thar Bank and get me a OCMS CD.

    Gotta support our boys!

  • Bill Monroe tune originally, folks.

  • @dylansaves -- Bill made an early recording of it, but not his tune.

  • love these cats!!~ i lust got back from the avett bros show equally as fn awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • good god old crow has to make a second live cd

  • hence the lyrics in a charlie daniels song...fire on the mountain run boys run

  • No it was a Marshall Tucker song.

  • I think he may be referring to the line in the chorus of "The Devil Went Down To Georgia"

  • nah this song is where Charlie Daniels got it from. Bill Monroe did the earliest version ive heard. I think its a traditional folk song tho

  • Actually CDB had an album entitled "Fire on the Mountain" ( GREAT album ) but no song on it by the same name. MTB had the song on their " Searching for a Rainbow" album ( another GREAT album! )

  • These were 2 different songs with the same name, weren't they? I can't see any resemblance. I have the MTB album from 1975. The other is an fiddle tune.

  • The guijo...I love it. I always thought it was called a Banjitar. I like guijo better.

  • guitjo.

  • i've been caling it a ganjo

  • Thanks for the info :)

  • Thanks ya'll :)

  • Ah yes, Fire on the Mountain. Great old-time tune. I also loved the show on TNN..:)

  • Yep it's traditional...Fire on the Mountain would be the tune.
