You might also want to be cautious and clear the trail of potential traffic. Nothing worse than taking out a skier in a bad spot while they're struggling to get back into their skis. ;-)
Thank you so much dear for ur free tutorials, u r a life saver, i'm gonna ski for the first time on the weekend n i was dead scared!! I feel more safe n confident now, even want to go to ski now right away n try wat i have learnt all from ur vids! :)
Ignore the fools please. Thye r young imature ppl or just stupid n will never get mature.
@pcskn - have patience n think why he said that, because some ppl might just keep sitting n start collecting their stuff. by standing first u'll know ur knees, ankles etc r all right before u injure ur self further by not getting up n checking urself first.
This guy has helped me so much. I went skiing for the first time last year, and these tutorials made me more confident and prepared! I practiced on the floor at home.
I learned to put both skiis perpendicular to the slope, and get in your downhill ski first so you have a base to be on to get on the uphill one....whatever works for you I guess.
Using your downhill ski first is harder, as when you are on a pretty steep slope, and press down your ski you'll only push it away from you. You have more grip and can use more force when you're equipping your uphill ski first.

That's true. And yet that's what I have been taught (ages ago). From now on, if I've lost both skis, I'll follow the advice in this lesson!
