I like Deerhoof because they are an "alternative" to everyone else. No one else sounds quite like them. There are times I can't stand them. When I'm ready for the comfort of the mundane and seek the normal everyday sounds of music.But right now, I enjoy Deerhoof.

Labels like indie and alternative are just meaningless nonsense. This version is a bit sloppy and out of control, but I've seen Deerhoof live twice and they were fantastic. They sound much better with a second guitarist to round out their sound. While no one will accuse Satomi of having a technically great singing voice, her voice is a great counterpoint to the music. Their music is creative and inventive - a nice antidote to all the rote music out there.

i was at this show. all i could think of was, "please let this end." it was quite literally one of the most awful shows i had ever seen. a singer who can't sing, guitarists who can't manage to tune thier instruments... just laughable indie bullshit crap. but it's soooooo "kewl." yeah, right... Oh, this gets boring. Look, you don't have to enjoy Deerhoof, but your criteria for judgement are laughable. You suffer from the layman's "anyone could paint like Picasso syndrome". Now, I'm not going to draw lines between Deerhoof and fine art, but i'm tired of musodome - spending valuable time learning clinical technique whilst creating approximately NOTHING. What is singing? Which strings were offensively out of tune to you? Or is it that Deerhoof can communicate via song and you cannot?

Well.. it is, so that lacks no musciainship, because they created something of their own flesh and blood, so to speak. This band shows excellent showmanship, they entertain (their job), they create music that can touch peoples in some way, and actually dont play too much on the fact that they are indie.. ? neither do the fans? so .. dont know where you pulled that card from. IF you really want to find bands that have no talent, listen to the radio pop.

oliha~ actually, i'd say that playing slow and keeping good meter is a lot more challenging. playing fast is all good, and yes, the best thing about the band is the drummer... well, the ONLY good thing about this band is the drummer... he's good... but that's not enough.. the band sucks...
