i cant seem to select the top of the circle like you do, it just automatically selects the whole thing for me and when i try to click and drag (with shift held down) it doesnt sharpen the edge, it just makes it into a bigger ball, please help
thanks, when I use the up and down to increase or decrease the spiral , mine increases in big chunks not little tiny amounts and decreases in big chunks, not little tiny amounts. Where is the adjustment for that?

If you're in CS5, couldn't you also use the tool for varying the width of the stroke? or would that be too inconsistent?
(I just got CS5, still used to CS3)
