@DollysVlog A girl I work with was upset one day because twice people asked her when she was due, but the problem is that she's not pregnant. She's not even what you would consider fat. I mean, she has a tiny bit of a belly, but it's nothing really. I find it very rude when customers ask her when she is due because they assume she is pregnant when she isn't. One customer even asked her "Are you SURE you aren't pregnant?" after she told them she wasn't. Like how rude, right? haha

I'm currently working in retail just so i could get experience but it's ridiculous how the customers react in front of associates. The working environment is fun and energetic, but the customers are just plain...uggh!!!!

I work in a kid/baby store. I feel your pain lol this is my first retail job and so far, its a pain! The people always want me to change the prices -__- Yesterday this lady took all the size L gloves that we had and she asked me if we had more in the back and I looked it up on the register and I told her that the only ones we had were the ones in the front but she took all of them. Then she threw all the gloves in the ground and she talked shit to me in some foreign language. Sigh....

i work for a retailer who sells and repairs watches. had a refund the other day where a woman bought a watch back after 2 weeks her reason being she cant see it. ( due to poor eyesight or her being a clot ) the fact it took her 2 weeks to deduce that she wasnt able to read it was something she couldnt explain. plus the silly questions. is thisd £9.99 watch solid gold or gold plated. sure its solid gold, you can have the shirt off my back for free.

I worked retail for years as a store manager here in the USA. It is not politically correct or nice but it is "true".....that dealing with foreigners is absolutely the worse (by the way yanks do not consider people from the UK foreigners.... we just don't). You have language problems and cultural problems as well. Working retail is the job of last resort (next to prostitution) and collecting cans in the street that you can turn in for 2 pennies each.

to II56kiidll: in answer to your question...."retail" is generally working in some kind of shop or business where you deal with customers, answer all their questions and ring up their purchases at a cash register. Sounds simple doesn't it?.........not always....because you are dealing with the "human element"....the drunks, the drug addicts, the menoposal women with a hair across their ass, the pompus lawyer, the groups of obnoxious teenagers trying to shoplift....etc.....etc

Totally agree with everything here. I work in a coffee shop and some customers must really see being an ass as a sport. I've even been complained about to managment for not giving a lady a black cappucino ?_? I still to this day can't see how a cappucino (A coffee made with hot frothy milk) can be made black. I worked five years in shops on board ships. That is were the customers check out their brains before boarding. It was a blast working ships but the customers were with you for a whole week and most were brain dead.
