Leog114, I too, watched this show as a little boy. I was nine at the time. This show predated "Dynasty" and man it had a huge cast of already well established actors-plus a few veteran ones; ie., Barbara Rush, Howard Keel and Andrew McCarthy. And it had Morgan Fairchild and Stella Stevens who were so great as bitches.
I loved this show. With two hairy chested sexy hunks like John Beck and Mark Harmon, I used to drool watching it every week. It didn't last too long, but I would love to see it out on dvd someday.
I mainly watched it for them too! Do you remember seeing them on Battle of the Network Stars from 1980 or '81. Damn, John Beck had a set of nice pecs!
It was bad, but nothing beats morgan fairchild pretending to be crippled so she can sleep with her hunky caregiver. I don't remember if her husband found out. i would buy it in DVD. Fun camp!
he found out - when her mother eudora (barbara rush) was having a fit for painkillers, she jumped out of her wheelchair to calm her down and fielding (mark harmon) was passing by in the hallway and saw it all
NBC got really desperate with ABC and CBS since to get ratings they had to resurrect their own nighttime soap opera from an old movie let alone a novel!!!!!!!!!! No wonder it only lasted for two years!!!!! The opening credits was even terrible!!!!!!!

This was sooooooooo much a copy of ''Dallas''! Even the house is very similar to the original SouthFork from season 1/mini series.
