VERY IMPORTANT, I am currently collecting emails and messages to send to Criterion in an effort to get a release of this film. Everyone, please contact me as soon as possible to support this wonderous film. SIncerly, Angel's Egg Coalition.
this is really spacey, real... different. think im gonna save the rest of this tomorrow as im picking up some nice shit, and this would make an interesting watch.
absolutely amazing cinematography and music. I love how she seemed like a bird at 6:05, with her animated in flight form and the leaves looking like feathers...
i'm so glad we're living in this world and not that one. one hour in that world and i get fucked up and go insane! (personaly i don't know how those two manage to live in a world like that.)
@ittti91 Ironically, the character designer of this movie, Yoshitaka Amano, has worked on character designs for most Final Fantasy games and most logos as well. :D
Well the story is this the director wanted to be a preist before he got into anime (cristian ofcourse) but for some reason he just gave up then said i wanna make anime he made this which is talking alot about why he gave up but its very sad and erie once you understand the movie which is sorta impossible but ill give a spoiler the egg is everyones hope and once it break nothing is inside it so that is probably having to do with his reason he gave up on his dream
Everyone will interpret this movie in a different way, it's surrealism, that's the point. There are no "spoilers". The egg could be hope. It could also symbolise any number of other things. It's designed to be completely subjective.
There's obvious story quality in it. But if the issue is aesthetics, it still looks like a lot of other animes. At least in regards to the stuff that non-fans dislike. I doubt it'll win over non-anime fans.
its not really a distopia .when you say that a great futureistic matropolis springs to mind. its more like a dead world drifting into nothingness as the laws of physics fall to bits! If evryone else has gon then how comes only thease two people remain!
good length, just ry to make them a little longer that's all and i think this talks about how a pure thing doesn;t need to cling to a dead world and should go to a etter place
This is very well drawn despite it's age!

Japanese animation is in decline.
You won't find films like this made today.
Bregowald 3 months ago
@Bregowald
I wouldnt say that, many modern anime have pretty good animation
You should watch Mushishi, Monster, Black Lagoon, Elfen Lied, Gosick and the films of Hayao Miyazaki!

The details make this anime be a thousand times better than it could've been without them.
Details such as the girl not being on the screen for a realistic 1 minute that it took her to run down that hill. Brilliant.
