  • When I first heard this, I thought "This will be decent". When Halford started singing, I fell out of my chair in shock that his voice is still that good.

  • wow...seeing rob pull those falsettos off this late in his career is just...wow but i LOVE IT! \M/

  • HALFORD = PAINKILLER AGAINST JUSTIN BIEBER

  • The guitar solos are fucked up beyond recognition. Halford's singing is quite good, but he uses different technique as opposed to the studio version.

  • @StagnantExistance Care to elaborate "different technique"?

  • Perfect Hail to Halford !!!

  • viejo ctm weon oh!!!!

  • The Grove shows were some of the best metal shows I've seen in 30 years.

I thought it was funny how Rob would routinely turn his back to the audience while doing "Halford" songs then, for the 'second act', turn around to ask what the crowd really wanted to hear. Awesome.

  • Woah, this is the first time I've heard Halford pull this song off good live.

  • @psudeoaccount really! ive head him totally suck singing this before.

  • he drink beer before he sing

  • 1:21 scream like in original studio version

  • Halfords best version!

  • Incredible performance, this whole concert, same with Live insurrection. Rob was on his shit hitt'n it home throughout entire concert. Check out my own performance of painkiller at my channel and feel free to comment. Killer Video! Thanks for posting. ;)

  • solos played differently = fucked up? imho awesome solos and played v v v v well :)

  • @panpudzian Agreed. This was an all around awesome version of the song in my opinion

  • and in standrad tuning? DAYYYM

  • rob is just the metal god here. what a singer...

  • solos werent the greatest but way better than any of us could do live haha

  • ROB is Fucking back to where he belongs

  • \m/(><)\m/

  • Rob change the guitarist. He fucked the solos!

  • METAL GOD!

  • @TheAmeader

Jep, you are damn right., that is also a great version. Thanx!!!

Halford is the king - period.

  • he needs to sing like this everytime he sings this song man! Damn i used to think he couldnt sing this live but here it is im impressed! DO THIS GOOD ALL THE TIME ROB!

  • Rob "is" the Metal God!

  • Wow, thats the best live perfomence about Painkiller !!!

    Great job Rob, great job.

  • @kaemml1 chek sofia judas priest 2004

  • damn it that is pathetic solo. the metal god deserves better.

  • Were people allowed to Mosh at this show cause when I seen Halford about a year ago (In Anaheim) The security kept stopping the pit

  • ending scream is AAAWWWEEESSSOOOMMMEEE!!!!!!!!!

  • Halford is the best.

    Owens who?!

  • 5:11 and he is fatass guitarist? wazzup man! Metal Mike is GOD!!!

  • @TheMephistopheles616 bendigs were completely out of tune.... that is annoying

  • Good thing he changed guitarists... The fat one was so horrible at solos and the other guy just looked stupid and retarded in his pretentiuous and childish devil horns...

  • @TheAmazingUploader

Both of those guitarists are still in his band.

  • he is the fuking metal god no doubt hail from puerto rico the hell raider raids again

  • best live performance on youtube for rob halford

  • the solo sucks but other things is good...gleen tipton is god...

  • I'm kinda new with this band, why does he bend over all the time while singing?

  • @totschieck i guess he finds it easier to scream like that

  • @totschieck he is like in hes 70 you wish to be that bad ass when old e ^_- i nkow i do

  • @totschieck I found out that he's reading the lyrics.

    Give him a break, he's old :P

  • @totschieck

I think he said in an interview that's it'S easier to sing that way, at least the high-pitched parts.

  • the god is back !

  • @boemo433 ummmm this is from 03... hes been back

  • Halford was never singed painkiller so good... this was answer for live london 2002 by ripper owens, like halford says "I'm still metal god"... and he is. very high notes, very good final scream, and really its young person in 60 y.o. body!!! long live Metal God!

  • @DAVETSETSKHLADZE hahaha I saw that comment too that's why I get into this video, totally kicks ass! ROB HALFORD RULES!!

  • Comment removed

  • el pan asesino jajajaja

  • Oh come on guys stop dogging the guitar player. He's OBVIOUSLY no Tipton, but he did a pretty good job, considering how hard this solo is.

  • @purpledino167 True. Because Tipton's solos are classically influenced. They are also near impossible to accurately tab.

  • i know man!!!

i just wanted to say that the tour in 2001-2002 was with Tim Owens on vocals.

Where did Halford find that beerbelly fat ass guitarist???

By the way i saw Priest in Thessaloniki during the ''EPITAPH TOUR''.

Amazing.....Too bad it is the last tour ever..

  • Woow The Metal God! gotta love it!

  • Who is the one moron that could possibly dislike this??? WTF!

  • CTM LA WEA PRO!

  • The scream at 1:21 gave me shivers... :)

  • this version is the best even though its not by priest but its still good

  • Halford was great on the vocals here, too bad that the fatass guitarrist fucked up all the solos

  • @DarkExecutor Yea the crowd is like WTF?....

  • @DarkExecutor I agree... the solo sucks :(

  • @DarkExecutor the solos werent too bad, but the part when he is like playing "fast" if you know what i mean he fucks it up. rob was incredible here :O

  • @DarkExecutor Oh god the solo was horrible

  • Comment removed

  • @DarkExecutor haha its funny coz hes fat...

  • @DarkExecutor not everyone is Glenn or K.K Downing. For luck.

  • this is faker than Unleashed in the East

  • @satrum it really isn't. he'd of admitted it like he did with unleashed.

  • Wow halford's awesome shame about the band

  • It's from 2003, in Crucible tour. Some months before Halford return Priest. This dvd was released in 2010, but the show it's from 2003...

  • I have never heard Rob sing Painkiller this well live ever! Absolutely amazing and far beyond any of the other clips on youtube.

  • holy fucking shit, is this from 2001-2002 right?

  • @konejo197666 I don't know exactly, but in 2001 - 2002 the line up was different, so i think that this is from 2009 - 2010.

Sorry for my English, i'm Chilean :)

  • @xxJirenzaRxx this was 2003 on the crucible tour

  • @xxJirenzaRxx this is from the dvd: halford live in anaheim. It's from 2003

  • @xxJirenzaRxx es de la gira del crucible 01-02

  • @xxJirenzaRxx 2002-2002 was with tim ''ripper'' owens on vocals.

  • @dimitrisfeel This is Halford, Not Judas Priest

  • @xxJirenzaRxx This is from 2002-2003 cause you can see the crucible cover on the drums and impossible to be 2010 cause it's not the same voice from rob and not the same setlist at all ;) You can also check and see that 2002 tour usually start with Painkiller :)

  • @LinkyHYC I know, Its already corrected this was recorded in 2003 but the Dvd is from 2010

    Thanks Anyways

Sorry if my english is a bit wrong :/

  • @konejo197666 This is 2002 or 2003

  • @Eliskoopa so, it is recorded in 2003 or something around those dates, but it was released 'till 2009???????

  • @konejo197666 Yeah, it was released last year

  • Cuánto pulmón tiene este tipo... =|

  • JUST FUCKING PERFECT

  • Halford is God

  • I wonder any studio dubbing has been made here for the vocal parts, as halford never sounded this good in singing this song live in recent years. And playing of instruments are also sounding too perfect.

Halford is my all time fav singer, one and only one, and thus I wanted to confirm that this is actual live singing. Any guy that attended this show please tell me if he sounded this good in that show singing painkiller.

  • @deathbloodydeath well as since he can't even do this in the studio now i find it hard to imagine he dubbed this last year.

  • @deathbloodydeath

His voice is recovering...I saw him in Munich this tour and he sounded much better than in all the years before.Painkiller is still very hard for him, but he sung Victim Of Changes very good.I wonder why they put Painkiller at the end of the set, I mean, he's tired from all the songs before, it's no wonder he can't sing it that good.
