  • r u serious this disease similar to evand syndrome can be treated not permanantly it actually is inhereted. i got it when i turned 11 and its horrible because i have to sit and watch kids at school have fun while i have to fail p.e. by force and my sister is going to get it and we are just waiting

  • My brother is in hospital at the moment because he had 0 platelets. This caused internal bleeding in his brain, which in turn caused his heart to stop, but was brought back to life with CPR. He had 2 brain operations and a splenectomy in parallel. He is now recovering. Something like this is deadly.

  • my daughter has I>T>P her platelet count was down to 12 border 13000 she is only 6 years old,....

  • Sorry about your daughter. A tip for you and your daughter; dont stop her from being a kid just because she has ITP. My parents did and i can tell you that it made me grow up too fast and i missed out a lot. I'm 22 years old but i feel much older because i skipped a lot.

  • this video is very say.

those people have it bad,if u dont have it like them u should be grateful.

    i am.

  • Unfortunately i did have it that bad. But things are a whole lot better now.

  • @bambi1xo how did you make it better? I have had it all my life and they removed my spleen, the count did go from 15,000 up to 300,000 but after 9 months it's dropping back down again. It's down to 110,000 now.

I would like to have holistic remedy and not steroids again. steroids were horrible and I gained a lot of weight from it and can't get it off. :(

  • i got when i was baby they wernt sure what to do i almost died... =(

  • I got hospitalized when i was like 11 my count was 4000. but i never got my sleen removed. Im 21 now.

  • When I was diagnosed with ITP my count was only 4,000 - it was horrible

  • did you get your spleen removed?

  • I was just sore for a while. I'm more prone to infections and viruses but so is any one who doesnt have their slpeen. Be sure its what U really need and want. Look at the PDSA website. It helped me a lot. I know the hospital can be overwhelming. A splenectomy worked 4 me but now i keep worrying my ITP may come back and it can. Without my spleen it means ill be on meds my whole life & in-n-out of hospitals too. Always ask 4 more. More treatments more, more help, more support. Good Luck.

  • OMG! This is extreme! I had a run in with this disorder back in October 1996, but I don't think I was ever this bad. I was pretty bad off though.

  • me to....;'(

  • i had to have my spleen removed due to my itp.

my count was a low as six thousand.

  • thats as low as mine was, but i never got mine removed. i have had it for about a year, longer than typical. im about to go to the doctor for it, last time they checked my count was 45K. i never quite looked like the pictures in the slide show, but i did have to go to the E.R. 10 months ago when i had a nosebleed that wouldnt start after an hour and a half of pressure, and even this stuff that is supposed to clog ur nose.

  • how much is your count now???..and how long did it take to go back to normal...did steriods work??..ive had it for a year now and im scared if you can help me out with them questions it whould be a massive help ..many thanks

  • So sorry it took so long. I was scared too. I was on steroids for a year and had chemo but that didn't work for me so i had my spleen removed. It was worse when i would stress out, so try to relax and always ask your Doc. if there are new treatments. Removing your spleen should be your last resort. Oh and eat as healthy as you can. Iron rich foods helped me.

  • thanks for replying really helped me out..im having a spleenectomy early next year..my count is 4.000 and have tried evrything im just sick of goin to hospital and not living my life..did you have any bad effects from the operation?

  • @coolasschick hey just wondering how you are today??..ive just had my spleen removed l2 months ago.

  • I get ITP 2 years ago,my 1st trombosite diagnoses is 7500(150.000 normally),and now it's 275.000.

  • I was diagnosed with ITP. Scary...
