The Danish Government offered to help retrieve the oil that was leaking into the Gulf. The President has rejected this offer from the beggining. That is irresponsible. Etc. while they forget to mention BP's corner cutting safety violations (oops... the cons now say those didn't contribute to the leak at all) Only 2 months and Rush & friends have been able to shift blame from the actual cause to those who had tried to warn the people about the risks of drilling... scary.

Second, I'm commenting on a general trend. Obama delivers excellent speeches, but they're not tied to policy--consider his opposition to prescription drug importation, public option, and single payer. He opposed all of these measures while delivering speech after speech on the importance of affordable, accessible healthcare.
He always gives a good speech--but I've stopped finding them credible, so I don't tune in to them anymore.

The Danish Government offered to help retrieve the oil that was leaking into the Gulf. The President has rejected this offer from the beggining. That is irresponsible. Also for the record he does have long term solutions which should have been started years ago such as solar power. I doubt that most of that money will ever be paid out and will eventually be returned to BP. Exxon Valdez occurred 20 years ago and the plaintiffs are dying off without getting their money.

Obama isn't really serious about alternative energy. If he were he would be defending Iran's desire to build working nuclear power plants to offset their oil usage rather than threatening to blow them up because of them.
