  • @jaketarren he used the camera he is fine

  • BUT ,....... WILL IT BLEND ???

  • Will you please post some more info on the diode? Also, I hope you used safety glasses.

  • Where did you buy that PSU? I'd like to buy one myself.

  • if a guy can make this at home, the military must have laser rifles...

  • @jgto17

    Not yet.

  • Omg. I don't wanna live next u.

  • How many bucks? lol

  • Tim Hortons! You're from Canadia!

  • @PikachuGrasshopper Not necessary they're in the USA now....

  • you shouldn't be doing this outside - too dangerous for people passing nearby. are you using any kind of eye protection?

  • @rad0radish Seriously?? You look at the cooling setup and the power supply he has and you assume he's new to lasers?

  • @staticfive seriously! even proffesionalists working @ laboratories aren't to cautious about lasers

  • @rad0radish I was kinda making fun of you, but....

  • @staticfive

Its a thermal take kit...an ape could assemble that.

The Laser PSU is much harder to make.

  • Hey man, is this what Darth Vader uses?

  • the tim's cup made that vid a 5*....made in canada baby

  • You got be carful, as you Iris (which is the bit of your eye that the light falls on), has no sense of pain, so if you can see the laser or feel it, it could be to late and you have lost your site.

Rember about reflections too, probably best to get some safty googles that filter out that wave length.

  • @gavinnorthants Its the retina that light falls on. The iris is the muscle that expands and contracts over the pupil.

  • Hi.

I have a 45W Coherent Laser Diode, but I am searching for a supply.. What powersupply are you using in this video? Where did you got it?

    thanks,

  • Water Cooled ??? fucking awsome

  • we just bought one of these at my work for spot marking, it takes a shitload of amps.

  • so 808nm lasers produce no color?

  • 808 is Infra Red

  • 808nm/Infra red is not visible for the human eye, tho it is visible when you record it with a camera

  • Nice, take a special lense on it and cut something with a cnc plotter :) your neighbor will be allways on your door to get something cut :D

  • thats so dangerous because its infra red, ie you cant see it with the naked eye

  • LOL its thermaltake!!!

  • whats the point?

  • An 808nm laser, it's not a very fine point until he gets the right lenses.

  • where do I start? how to make it portable? what kind of armour is needed if my neighbour already has one? have you tried opening portals with it? always remember to wear a solidly built tin foil hat when operating devices such as these.

  • @selfalready What the hell...you are kidding, right? :D

  • @selfalready BEST ARMOUR TO USE WOULD BE A MIRROR ,,MIRROR CHAINLINK ARMOUR WOULD BE GREAT IF IT EXISTS..only prob would be where the beam reflects ,,gonna get burnt ,,,lol

  • Please supply the specs so i can appreciate whats going on better

  • Whats the black case thing in front of the laser??

  • I think it will be a lense as the output from the laser will be a line and the lense focuses the beam into a spot for burning and other things

  • i'm missing the "PSIIIIIIIIICH" sound

  • To liquid friction: I am still using ill tempered mutated seabass :(

  • I want one

  • finally! ! !!!111! !!1!. . .i can get sharks with killer laser beams attached to their heads :DDDDDDDD

  • dat is fucking sickk

  • i would like to that on some evil person :( who stole my stoofs :( righ tin his eyes :3

  • O_O.. zomg lol

  • Tim Horton's!

  • Hmm lovely... check mine ;-)

  • i need some of those on my car, and one on my bike too, that would be awesome

  • I have a similar laser type, its 25watts power and it does the same thindgs as yours, but tell me one thing why cant it cut wood, its really strange, i tried to cut wood with my one and it did the same thing as to your peice , it went on fire but didn't cut it,do you think you can know the answer? thanks

  • Once the wood turns to carbon the laser won't do much to it.

You could try to blow high pressure air over the cutting zone while doing it.

  • Does it burn from a long distance too, or just short range???

  • it's very hard to focus IR/NIR

  • im amazed lol..... i want to make one tooooooooo :(

  • damn dude

  • And, to point out another thing, thewelderguy.

X-ray laser is also pretty hard to focus, even for one thing, you couldn't even be able to see the light itself. But you can use the crystal or the mirror lens. Also, if you want to see the X-ray laser, you would want to use either Scintillator plate or phosphor plate - they helps.

And, 10,600 nanometer Infrared laser - forget it. It burns virtually anything that the laser radiation touches. (except for exotic aresnic-based mirrors that it uses.)

  • Well, still - it's a pretty good setup. Being cooled is the priority. It would be awesome to do huge ND:YAG / KTP crystal setup with this diode (making 50+ / 60+ watts Green laser output).

Plus whoever insult this author, you shouldn't really be buying a bigass laser diode (it can really cut your body parts off - I'm serious.) instead settle for a puny 5mW diodes.

I also would like to work with a huge laser diode. (Being experienced that is.)

  • i bet that burning smelled good

  • 1 THING I SO FCKING WANT 1

  • How much was the diode laser and where do you find the supply? I have seen where they would bounce the wide beam off a mirror at an angle and be able to get a round beam. If you point lets say the beam square to a mirror but allow the beam to bounce back away from the diode and the wide beam will stat to get thinner as you move the mirror. Try it out and see what happens. Anyway check out the big green beam machine iv got.

  • SWEET! According to the readings at the beginning, you almost got it to suck up 170watts.

  • holy s*** this is almost 70A of current. Really cool

  • COOL, nifty wood burner.

  • too bad its a bitch to focuse IR radiation. the higher the nM's the less it wants to focus. UV will focus much better, but that's not something to play with unless you want skin cancer.

  • Nice stuff! How much is the actual output?

  • too bad its not hand-held

  • where did you get that monster? :O

  • I know that guy, he probably built it.

  • well actually i am 100% sure he built it.

  • well yea, but I mean...I don't think he built the diode itself....

  • Holy crap, I've seen some pretty powerful lasers, but that beats it. Get that thing focused! gg
