See the sailor climbing out of the 16" barrel at 4:35? this was part of the iniciacion for a 16" turret Gunners Mate . you would climb in the breech and out the other end. depending on sailor size about 15 min. remember its only 16 inches across. you would pull with fingertips and push with toes as u couldnt bend arms or knees- not enough room.
@Streptokokki it proved itself in the first Gulf war, combined with "modern" technology (UAV's & GPS) it's a cheap and effective way of shelling the crap out of land-based targets...

Battleships could still be effective if they were mixed with other kinds of ships, after all those guns can throw a lot of metal at enemies.

@MrROTD Anti Ship missiles rule the today's naval warfare. USS Missouri has no more room in that reality.
