They said they pushed for a moment to make him the main villian of the third movie, but Disney decided against it. The family focus of the third movie (with Aladdin's dad) somehow led to the rumor that Mozenrath was supposed to be revealed as Aladdin's brother (though I don't know where you got the "twin" part). In any case, he was a great character and a perfect foil for Aladdin.
@Markel1970A When Aladdin says "barely" I don't take it to mean they were born minutes apart, as twins are. I could buy Mozenrath as Aladdin's slightly older half-brother (a Caucasian mother would explain the difference in coloring), but twins? Nah.
@jessiLOVESdisney101 He's in Episodes 37, 39, 42, 56, 58, 59, 79, 81, and 83. He appears in nine episodes total. Although in episode 56, his voice is different because of a different voice actor.

If so, the fact the it was another voice actor would definitely explain why I don't really like him in that episode. Brandis' voice conveyed a wonderful mixture of smart-ass kid and smug villain, but in that episode Mozenrath just sounded like a slimeball.

Actually, 'The King of Thieves' was released in 1996 (however, the DVD was released in 2005); Jonathan Brandis (voice of Mozenrath) passed away in 2003. It was rumoured that the plot was not used because Jonathan did not want to reprise his role as well as that the producers/writers wanted the movie to somehow distance itself from the TV series.
I sort of wish they came out as brothers. That would have been so cool...

Sorry, I just really didn't like that thing with the dad so much. Not to mention there's so many things that were never revealed about Mozy's past with Destane and so on and so forth. He was the coolest villain in the show, and that would have been an awesome twist...
