  • Good Feeling, good song!

  • YEAHHHHH wisconsin wooo

  • BTW I FEEL PRETTY GOOD RIGHT NOW

  • since everyone is having a great conversation, i'm just gonna say this song is pretty damn good!

  • no, he's making fun of you, and you just don't get it. It's the femmes, man - stop whining!

  • TikkiTabbi,

So pure & genuine. Whats nice about songs is they are like paintings. This song meant a lot to me when I was in my late teens, all the way into my early college years. Now, much later in life I can still relate to this song, but with a whole lot more understanding & for a whole different reason. You are my love that I have waited for. My love extends across the ocean, for us! It does! I love you babe, deeply, I do!!!

    Little Wolf,

  • LOL.. r u retarded or something? or are you just too young to behave like a human being? :)

I hope you grow out of this, sincerely I do...

otherwise, PLEASE don't have kids .. :) thanks in advance

  • this was supposed to be a reply to SHANESUMS. don't know why it posted here.. sorry bout that .. :P

  • Go to bed little boy, you have had to much chocolate..

  • have u got my fuckin house bugged or what?

  • wow, what a nasty thing to say for no reason. are you the result of a few generations of inbreeding by any chance?

  • well actually yes i am,i carry the linkhorn gene

  • Takes me back to Woodstock '94. Friday night, don't know how

I did it 'cause I was about two sheets to the wind, but I was in the woods when they came on and by mid set i was in the front row to enjoy it all. to this day still don't know how i got there. Maybe floated over the crowd. LOL!!

  • I love the solo and the way it came out in the second half with the raw down beat under the guitar

  • oh yeah doin on drugs is the best

  • What i love about this whole album is that its timelessness. since it's release it seems each generation gets it and that is rare i bought the tape off a girl in high school In 1994 and it was pretty much the soundtrack of that time of my life, and kids now still find this album and it speaks to them on a personal level. I don't think too many albums are capable of that especially nowadays.

  • hehe im 14 and its one of my all time favs. reminds me of my girlfriend :D. and whever im sad,one hear of this song and life seems much brighter and more understandble.this album akmost like capured a portion fo mylife and truned it into music. if only i could do that with ym guitat :P i hope i could someday

  • Yep. The Doors dominated Forrest Gump's Soundtrack, but The Femmes without a doubt were a huge part of mine. I graduated highschool outside DC in Fairfax, Va in 92, and the years before and after were full of Femmes, Fugazi, Chilli Peppers, Etc...

  • truly one of the greatest songs ever penned; it's so simple yet touches on the complexity of depression in such a deep way. LOVES IT!

  • When I was in high school, I played this cassette so much all the words wore off. I knew it was my VF tape because it was the solid white one in my case. Used to fast forward to this tune at night to go to sleep by. Awesome stuff! Brings back good memories.

  • One of my favorite songs ever.

  • I know them for at least 20 years and still refreshing to hear them...simply love them!

Will do 600 km to see them again!

  • quite simply one of the greatest songs ever written

  • It doesn't get much more vulnerable than this.

  • I love this song/band-Brian Ritchie (Along with Mike Watt) Is the best bassist in the world!

  • I agree with this statement

  • My only criticism of this 'vague sketch of a fantasy' is that it's too short.

  • Something everybody might know but the ones who don't:

The Violent Femmes, formed in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, in 1980, are an American alternative rock band, noted for laying the groundwork for folk punk. The band has had four members: singer, guitarist and songwriter Gordon Gano, bassist Brian Ritchie, and two drummers, Victor DeLorenzo and Guy Hoffman.

  • it's about jerking off !

  • I meant blister in the sun

  • isn't this song about his penis and sex?

  • That's blister in the sub.

  • one. of. the. most. beautiful. touching. tunes. of. all. time. LAUGHING AT THE SUNRISE...
  • aww lily and marshall's song! i love the look she gives him when he says he loves this song :).

  • Ye, that episode was just Awesome !

  • Oh yeah, somebody would say LEGENDARY !

  • Could you please post "Please Do not Go"? Thx,

  • drewjpaterson. "Please Do Not Go" has been uploaded.

  • i LOVE this song so much the violent femmes are one of the best bands ever kind'of a sad song but still one of the bests along with add it up and gone daddy gone

  • this song is so great!

  • I always thought this was about the good times being far too often separated by the bad times. That's just what I take from it anyways.

  • Right on. The theme of this beautiful song is universal. No need to dilute its power with extraneous stuff.

  • This is a great Violent Femmes songIt was my favorite for a long time until I heard "I know it's true, but I'm sorry to say". That is an AMAZING Femmes song. And as to what this song is talking about...It has nothing to do with Boners, or Women, or whatever other dumb shit people said. This song is about his true love.Heroin.You can hear it in his voice, him begging for just a few more moments of not feeling pain, the pain of losing his first true love, whoevever she was. Pick heroin over a whore.

  • fucking love the V Femmes!

  • Haha yes Legen.... wait for it .... dary !

  • marshal and lillys song in how i meet your mother, love that show and this song

  • One of my favorite songs ever. Thanks for putting this up.

  • Me too! :-) This song is so gorgeous.

  • NIIIIIIIIIICE! So glad I got to see them in Oslo in 1990. Still a big fan!

  • Wow this song was on one of the first cassette tapes my older brother made me when I was younger. Love the Femmes, Love those days!

  • I liked what I heard of this song in 'How I Met Your Mother' so decided to check it out. Really is a quality little song, despite what the subject matter may or may not be about! Does remind me a little of the Velvets

  • this song is about his boner!

  • try tantra, breathing into the root chakra, and raising the kundalini for your boner projection distortions, my friend

  • " your boner projection distortions " LMAO

  • Reminds me very much of the Velvet Underground. Really cool song though.

sounds like the sound of an empty room with you in the middle with a little light.

    great song.

  • this first album is a journey from start to finish ,,,one ive travelled many times

  • This band is grossly under-rated. This song is a masterpiece.
