Sub human Race was a killer album!!.......Really......, EVEN after the crap flannel/depression bands.........Those bands should be prevelent now!..........Nickelback said the 80's bands are why they are at where they are at!........3 doors Down said the same thing.....
Saw them live in 1991-92 at Sydney's eastern creak where they supported G'n'R. Skid Row were better than G'n'R, more alive. Shame they never played this gem.
I'VE ALWAYS LOVED THIS SONG. I REMEMBER SEEING THIS CONCERT ON TV IN MY GRANDMA'S HOUSE. I WAS ONLY 12 AND COULDN'T GO TO THE CONCERT. 2 DAYS AGO I SAW THEIR CONCERT IN LONDON AND IT WAS A DREAM COME TRUE. SEBASTIAN IS THE SAME...
Jesus Christ! Still dont believe he is the greatest rock singer of all time? There is good reason why they didn't play this song live much. It's impossible. Sebastian is the only one who can sing that song, and an entire set around it. He does the impossible
todays bands cannot even touch this!!very sad when i can 't even turn on the radio without puking...one of the best frontman, i think he is the love child of robert plant lol..his vocals, range , and stage presence is much like plants, esp.in his younger years.

wow im surprised that he acually pulled this off live, ive seen some live vid where he has trouble pulling off his own high notes, but he did pretty fracken well with this one
I grew up listening to these guys. when slave to the grind came out, it was amazing cause they were wone of the bands that seemed to get heavier when everyone else was going quite the opposite direction. This song is soooo damn epic! Such a shame they couldnt work out their differences because skid row just isnt skid row without Sebastian Bach. Great tune though, always will be one of my all time favorites.
@tagurooski There was another video from St. Louis back in 1992, he had the gold pants on. I can't find it anywhere looks like it was yanked off of youtube but maybe someone will upload it again. It was even better than this one, both are stunning!
OMG.....his voice...nothing like it!!! They were the best together.....come on guys one more time!! For the FANS....Skid Row now is a JOKE...and BAZ still is rocking hard....but together you are unstoppable!!
I've attended more than 300 shows in my time, and if I would have to mention just one gig of them all it would be Skid Row w. L.A Guns back in 1991 - When rockstars were true and the music kicked ass big time! Right before the invasion of shitty grunge and Nu-metal

@thumpinassbassist It drives me crazy!!! I was just talkin' to a kid who's taking Audio Production at the college I go to and when I told him my favorite Rock band was Skid Row, he laughed. Of course I asked him if he knew any of their music and he said "No" ! He only knows what they play on the local rock station and rock stations don't play Skid Row!!! This is ludricrous!!! Everyone start calling their local stations and demanding they play Skid Row!!! And not just from the album SKID ROW!!!
@thumpinassbassist I so agree and I encourage all Skid Row fans to call their local rock stations and get them to start playing Skid Row and not just the cuts from the album Skid Row. A whole generation has no idea who they are and how great they were. It's wrong!!!!
@groover6666 they may have been huge but not NEARLY enough airplay...that is what I meant by underrated. If you turn on the radio there are only a FEW select songs that they will play from Skid Row. There are so many OTHER songs that they have written that just blow there radio songs out of the water, like this one for instance...never heard it on the radio once, what a shame.
they do play live, but its skid without the baz, so yeah, they should get together and tour the world, with gnr as they did in the past. re-unite both skid and gnr and i will pay big money to see that show... what a tour that could be,
Few songs have ever reached this mark...or this uniqueness. Bravo to skid row on this one. One of my favorite songs of all time. I just hope Skid Row realizes that Sabo's songwriting and Bach's singing are a one in a million combination. It's a shame it is no more.
@Denton9176 perfect written! thats exactly what i think too. And yes... this song has magnitude. was very verrrry underrated in my opinion this song it's at least "equal" with... stairway to heaven (for example). 100 % original, unique, perfectly balanced, good lyrics, great solos, perfect intro/outro ... brilliant song.

No one comes close to his voice, not James La brie, not Steve Perry. This songs is in the league of empyrean heights of rock songs together with Stairway, Surrounded, Child in Time, Children of the Sea.
Sebastian Bach was in his prime back then. Too bad the other guys at Skid Row disses him. They didn't realize that without Bach, they can't be the same band anymore. With Solinger, they just ended the real Skid Row sound and entered a different tune more of like Daughtry and the others. Skidrow totally died when Bach left.
Sebasian was really in his prime back then. I just bought his new solo cd. It's good but I noticed he wasn't holding notes or singing through phrases like he used to on his balads. I saw him in Jesus Christ superstar...he was having a hard time ....I wonder if he blew out his voice....
The person who gave me the copy of this concert says It was at the Olympia, are you sure it was at Ibirapuera??? I'm aware they made several shows in Brazil in 1992. This concert has indeed a pause, because Baz stage dived and the crowd wouldn't let him return to the stage! He could be seriously hurt, the band was concerned!
The note at the end of this song is one of the hardest notes in any song I've ever heard, I always try and nail it but always fall short. Sebastian was in his prime on Slave to the Grind, amazing.
anyway 80s is the best. I dont care about 70s so much but 80s is the greatest! In 90s there were Nirvana and now there is Hanoi Rocks, but then there were everything! Though, ive born in the 90s but anyway.

The person who gave me the copy of this concert says It was at the Olympia, are you sure it was at Ibirapuera??? I'm aware they made several shows in Brazil in 1992. This concert has indeed a pause, because Baz stage dived and the crowd wouldn't let him return to the stage! He could be seriously hurt, the band was concerned!

i miss "epic" bands like this. Big rock bands, like in the 70s or 80s.

I yearn for a lead dinger that can belt out like he did. Sorry to say i have been following his new work and I am disappointed

The note at the end of this song is one of the hardest notes in any song I've ever heard, I always try and nail it but always fall short. Sebastian was in his prime on Slave to the Grind, amazing.

I totally agree, that note is AMAZING

Sebastian has a GODLIKE voice. The studio version of this song is stunning - he was in TOP form during that record.
But holy shit, in this video I got nervous when Sebastian first came in all off-time but he straightened out nicely!

I agree with you, but this song is in the 90s
petethesinner 4 years ago
anyway 80s is the best. I dont care about 70s so much but 80s is the greatest! In 90s there were Nirvana and now there is Hanoi Rocks, but then there were everything! Though, ive born in the 90s but anyway.

Pete-
LOL! I was thinking that when I read his comment and how so many people visiting this people were just going along with his 70s and 80s thing... lol!
BatteryPoweredLove3 4 years ago
people say the 80's was shit with all those hair bands, but any mediocre musician could outplay ANY1 2day, and there is no greater vocalist that bach
