song and voice forever fabulous. i could enjoy hearing justin singing with david gilmour, another 60's singer that 40 years later is also capable of eliciting tears
@kloudzjia Oh man why has he not done all of his songs solo? He must leave us with his talent. His guitar work is so extremely marvelous that I can't decide if his singing is better or worse than his picking. His talent is so rare.
@JAHISRAEL Hi I would guess your name is Israel ;) I can't see you being a Justin or Billy or a Joyce for that matter lol! What were you doing up at 3 am? Cheers Billy ;)
Wow. This really demonstrates what a beautiful instrument Justin Haywards voice is. With just his voice and an accoustic guitar this sounds like a symphony. God must be very pleased with Justin Hayward. Peace.
the rock and roll hall of fame is nonsense, thats why it is in cleveland...as meaningless as rolling stone magazine's list of greatest songs or guitar players
Christ , this is amazing. I'm 19 years old and I do not know of anyone under the age of 50 who was even heard of these guys. A damn shame they aren't in the rock and roll hall of fame, and yet jokes like Michael Jackson have been inducted... :(
Incredible! A solo performance of a memorable Moodies melody! Even without the flute and orchestrations for backing, Justin Hayward again works his vocal magic to give fans of the Moodies a fresh, new interpretation! Absolute brilliance!
Joyce : You are not alone in your love and appreciation of this legendary band -Your videos are outstanding -- We would like to see more from you if any exist - This live cut from "In Search. Of "... is great-- I used to listen to their LPs at the university I went to- They had an area where you could listen[ with headphones] to the great LPs/bands of the time-- Thanks so much!!!
Thank you so much MoodiesFan for the great videos. I have never been to a concert and these videos allow me to experience this amazing talent that I otherwise would have missed. You and public television have made me a dedicated Moodies fan!!
Many of his songs sound good just as accoustic versions. Listen to "One Lonely Room" here on You Tube, or seek out "Nights in White Satin - Live At 2 Meter Sessies".
I am amazed that one man playing one guitar can make musical sounds that are so full that no other instruments are needed. How many can do that? This is a great video. thanks
I was haunted by the images of the older Justin and the younger Justin in this video. Justin was so beautiful back then. And he STILL is so beautiful now! I love Justin so! Thank you for this lovely clip!
Without a doubt the Moody Blues belong in the R & R Hall of Fame. They must be a bunch of tone deaf people who decide that the Moodies don't belong there. The Moodies are one of the greatest groups ever. Most of the groups in the hall of fame wish they were half as good as the Moodies.
Great song and easy to play on guitar! Justin Hayward is my favorite guitar player, especially if you watch question, you see his awesome skills, in this video you see his awesome song writing skills :).
This video is a good example of how talented Justin Hayward still is. Basically he is singing solo w/o any back up music or singers. He still sounds great. Today's singer wish they had half the talent of the Moody Blues. Yes these videos do make you feel younger and remind one of great times from the past when life was more simple. If the Moody Blues are not in the RRHOF then the hall of fame does not know what real talent is. They should be a shamed.
NJFast- I agree, I just received the latest Rolling Stone Mag. With the top 100 best singers and guess what!! Hayward was not among the picks! He has the most beautiful and distinctive voice have ever heard,
....Justin My Dream....Justin Stay Forever....Timeless.....Eternal....Songs....Messages...And Stories.... To.... Us..... All....I Am Beguiled....Justin My Dream....Justin Stay Forever.....
How the heck are the Moody Blues not in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame???? This is bullocks!!! These guys are what kids should be listening to today and perhaps we would see fewer acts of violence and more guitar players! Just my two cents...
Quite true...and where are Yes, Genesis, Jethro Tull, MC5, Stooges, King Crimson, Gentle Giant, Joy Division, etc. in the so-called RRHOF? And yet we now have "Madonna". Wow. I defy anyone to tell me they still listen to her shit. What a sad joke...
Back in the late sixties and early seventies when I first started hearing of the Moody Blues and Justin Hayward in particular, I never realized how timeless and great a band they were and still are. Most "musician, rock bands & artists of today cannot hold a candle to this group in terms of talent and listenability. They are a great group.
I was 11. The album was fresh and I use to walk home from school playing Lost Chord on my "tape recorder". You had to hold it with care or it would slur. Did I say we walked 5 mi to school in heavy snows?
Another super Justin acoustic solo. Can you name a more talented combo singer, songwriter, and guitarist??? Totally underrated song, with a special message. The electric version is great too (on their greatest hits album).
I read your remarks about Justin Hayward on YouTube. I agree with you that he still is a great musician, songwriter and singer. I am sixty-two years old, but I feel like a youngster again when i hear their music.
Thank you very much MoodiesFan! What a spectacular performance of this old familiar favorite. I shall never grow tired of hearing and seeing this man sing with nothing more than an acoustic guitar in hand...
