  • God she was great looking back in her day, willing to bet she was one hell of a romp in the sack.

  • Lorrie Collins rocks as an adult performer - she's great! Larry still sounds great.

  • solid

  • Larry Collins was BEYOND talented. He was a guitar genius who influenced a generation of greats like Chuck Berry and Les Paul. Check the dates!

  • I'm not much of a country fan, but I can recognize talent when I see and hear it. Larry Collins was incredible. I haven't seen anything like him in at least the past 25 years. He came from an era where there wasn't studio gadgetry to make a bad singer sound ok. If he had shown up in 1990, he would have blown the charts. The current crop of manufactured idols aren't even close in talent, personality or stage presence. I'm in awe of the kid, absolute awe.

  • wow im 16

    and love this music

    ohh my life <3

  • I had never heard of them until I saw em after u put em up thanks Gator...

  • Before Ranch Party, which was filmed at the Art Linkletter Theater without an audience (crowd shots were added latter), and during the year or so this syndicated series was being filmed, the Collins Kids appeared on Town Hall Party. THP was held at the Town Hall Ballroom in Compton. Calif. You can see a lot of that material here on YouTube. There started on THP in February 1954. Note the we were pre Elvis comment in the clip. THP was actually a dance, and the Ballroom could hold 3,000 people.

  • its a cut from the documentation 'Woman of Rockabilly'

  • I've never seen Ranch Party Collins Kids clips in a high picture quality like this. Does anyone know who owns this material and if it's for sale on DVD? I mean, not the documentary, but the Collins Kids Ranch Party clips in this high quality.

A Ranch Party DVD with Collins Kids stuff is published by Stomper Time Records, but they used another, lower quality source.

  • @iTubeNL The high-quality stuff is hard to come by. Some private collectors might have the films of the shows. But, I'm relatively certain that for the right price, the "Screen Gems" syndicated TV service (or whomever controls their archived material) will sell you particular episodes of Ranch Party. It won't be cheap, and you probably need to be a professional broadcaster or filmmaker. We can only hope that a quality DVD re-issuer like "Shout Factory" will come out with a "Best of Ranch Party."

  • color your hair dark brown again..

  • Boy, she's got some pipes on her!

  • Colins Kids rock! Teen Stars of today just don't compare to the Collins Kids!

  • History comes alive with biography. Fascinating story it is! BTW, in R. Nelson bios he really loved her but Ozzie and Harriet thought she wasn't good enuf. Well, she was a little wild and country wasn't Ozzie's music. How different music history may have been if they'd married. Who knows?

  • Philosophical comments

Negative - the internet allows everyone with a negative attitude to slag off talent (anonymously).

Positive - Lorrie and Larry have brought so much pleasure to their fans over the last 50+ years - and long may they continue. They were pioneers in their own right. They are appreciated as being rock n roll pioneers in the UK. Incidently the 2nd best version ever of High School Confidential

  • Always thought they were much ado about nothing , manufactured to appeal to teens .

'Sweet little Lorrie ' as a home wrecker is interesting .lol

  • @bearriver666 Sorry you feel that way... I think Larry does have a lot of talent on the guitar... and Lorrie's singing is well above-average. They were innovators... and a lot more talented than the teen stars of today (Justin Bieber, Miley Cyrus, etc, etc).

  • @Gatorrock787 i agree. they were not manufactured. they were talented kids who were turned on to rock and roll when that musical form exploded in the 50's. they were talented and great performers.

  • @bearriver666: The back story aside, Lorrie and Larry Collins were the real deal. I play myself, and Larry's playing was very advanced. This is proven by Larry's recordings with country guitar legend Joe Maphis. Lorrie should have been a star, but in those days, a gal couldn't sing rock and roll and get away with it. They were certainly more credible than some of the teen idol acts like Fabian or Frankie Avalon that came later.

  • wow really? she leaves the most beautiful thing in the world for some middle aged creeper? now those 4 kids belong to kris, i bet she's kicking herself.

  • @KacyCall014 Spam?

  • These musicians are among the pioneers of rockabilly, & early rock & roll---------- that is: AMERICAN MUSIC AT ITS BEST! They certainly deserve an award for their love of the art...Peace via Music...VIVA MARIA!

  • I WAS THERE in that VEGAS SHOW...with the Big Sandy intro...what a night and I got their autographed photos, too.

  • Lorrie was still a nice lookin lady when this was made!!

  • Thanks so much for uploading this. It pleases me to know there's still a little bit of knowledge spreading around youtube.

  • Great pioneers of the music, the originals.

  • I think Larry looks a little like Clapton!!!!

  • The Ranch Party segment is very clean video!

  • wow lorrie was beautiful!!

  • My Cousins from my Grandma Porter's side!!!! Ramona Burns, Arvada, CO

  • Fantastic... was just listening to them this morning!

  • The group's guitarist, Peter Greenberg, was a big rockabilly fan, had previously played in the legendary Boston punk and garage bands DMZ and The Lyres, respectively, as well the Cincinnati garage/punkabilly group The Customs.

Then I later watched a great documentary on Ricky Nelson (produced by his brother David) on The Disney Channel (when that was a great cable channel which showed lots of "Vault Disney" programming), in which Lorrie Collins was interviewed.

    Man, those kids were boss!

  • A Boston r&b group called Barrence Whitfield (the lead singer a black guy named Barry White, who had to change it for obvious reasons) & The Savages used to perform a song by The Collins Kids. I think they did "Whistle Bait."

The group was comprised of some guys who had worked at a vintage record shop, so they had impeccable tastes in music. Anyhow, that's how I found out about The C-Kids back around 1983.

  • Larry looks like a little white gary coleman.

  • Wow!

  • Wonderful thanks ! It was nice having a chance to learn more about the Collins Kids and wow what a powerful voice Lorrie has in the more recent clip at the end. Glad to see they're still going !

  • Superb. Nostalgic. Loved this! Thanks Reliablebow for sharing...

  • T-Double N-T!! Indeed!!!!

  • No one sang 'YEAH' like Lorrie!

  • Tnks Gator, waited for this for sometime and anything else you can find on the COLLINS KIDS.

We fans appreciate it again thanks.

  • Thanks, Gator...I've always wanted to see more of their story, and now I have.

  • Alright, thanks a lot!

  • I have the DVD of this and the part where she says "everybody hated him" always cracks me up. She was trying to be diplomatic up to that point. Heh.

  • Hey! What's the name of that DVD? Is it "Tear it up"? If yes, is the feature about the Collins kids longer than what is shown here?or is there another documentary about the collins kids?Wanna find out as much as possible about them! =)

  • It is called "The Women of Rockabilly- Welcome to the Club".
