  • in this short video the size of sauron was similar to the size of morgoth

  • @fedotiulian True that man and i tihkn they should make a movie about morgoth and sauron and the first age and the origins of maiar (gandalf, sauron etc) that and the second age and the war of the elves and sauron and this battle of the last alliance ps:i know this stuff because my firend is a obsessive lotr fan and i thought it interesting so dont call me nerdy or dorkish cause i know this stuff

  • Look Charlie, the eagles, the eagles are coming

  • Did anyone notice that when Sauron came on and when Gil Galad starts talking to him how Sauron is slowing floating backwards? O_O

  • Haha, sorta reminds me of fingolfin vs morgoth or david vs goliath. But then again tolkien has a habit of killing most of the heroes rather than all of them triumphing.

  • thumbs up for gil galad's lansword... XD

  • King Kong

  • hahahahahahaahaa

  • son of a bitch let me down

  • im sorry your wrong, both gil-galad, and elrond fought in the battle. Gil-galad died, not elrond.

  • i don't see the humor.

  • sauron picks up lord elrond, not Gil-galad. lor elrond fought in the battle of the last alliance, not him.

  • not true. ask good old mark ferguson ;) or watch the extended version of Peter Jackson's movies... third one, first 30 minutes should be enough. :p

  • @stummelzahn

were did you get all this info?? or the guy in the video where did he get the specifics of this battle?? I don't recall sauron killing gil galad... or dunno

  • @alahad there is a book prequel to the lord of the rings trilogy and the hobbit ;) it's called "the silmarillion" and tells the history of arda and middle earth, starting from its making by eru. and it tells how sauron comes into existance in the first place, too. so if you do not know this book, then you just cannot know about the battle or sauron killing gil-galad in the first place ;) so what peter jackson shows in his extended version of his movies is kind of true after the book ;)

  • @stummelzahn mmm it offends me XD that you are trying to tell me about the silmarillion, I have read the hobbit, the lord of the rings and the silmarillion even before the movies were announced but... I just didn't recall this battle...

right now I am reading The shaping of middle earth...

what happened is that in silmarillion I was more interested in the story of Turin Turambar, Feanor and the silmarils and even Beren and Luthien instead of the One ring related part... thanks

  • @alahad sorry for offending you ^^ ...but how in eru's name could i guess you know the silmarillion - when you say you do not remember what happened in the "battle of the last alliance"? ;p

  • @stummelzahn nahh I was just kidding with the offense thing... still the very fact that gil galad was burnt in mount doom by sauron was what I didn't remember and still don't... gil galad dying I think I can recall it...

  • @alahad gil-galad

  • Gil galad died killing sauron.

  • @melistentodeathmetal

Gil-Galad is the height-king of the elves he fought there to he did die in the battle...

it was a majaor fail to not have him in he lotr movie

  • @melistentodeathmetal Noo both did atually, if u you read the book it tells of that sauron picks up gil galad and bursts him into flames

  • @melistentodeathmetal Actually, according to the books, Gil-Galad, Half-elf Elrond, Isildur and his younger brother Anarion, and their father Elendil, were all present. Gil-Galad was killed by Sauron, as well as Elendil and Anarion. Tho, they died at the Siege of Barad dur, not at the battle of Dagorlad. That's why I've always said, that the movie is full of holes of Information.

  • @melistentodeathmetal false, gil-galad also fought there and was killed. Jus´ read the books

  • @melistentodeathmetal Gil galad did you idiot

  • @melistentodeathmetal dude gil galad was leading the elves and elendil was leading the men

  • @melistentodeathmetal actualt yes he did because thats how he died. He tried to help destroy sauron but along with elendili the king of gondor died trying. read it on wikipedia

  • @melistentodeathmetal actualt yes he did because thats how he died. He tried to help destroy sauron but along with elendili the king of gondor died trying. read it on wikipedia and plus elrond doesn't die. he lives on to live in rivendaill and you can see him later on in the fellowship of the ring

  • @melistentodeathmetal read the books Elrond was Gil-Galads Herald

  • well its good but not funny

  • Hahah, nice :D

  • jijk

  • yeah... this is well made and all, but i do not see any humour in it at all... sorry (really well made though)

  • this is not really very funny no offense

  • What the fuck..?

  • Haha, Planescape Torment and Baldurs Gate 2 music in the background along with some other sound tracks I haven't heard.

  • The sound tracks you haven't heard were made by an ex-collegue of mine. He never told me about Baldurs Gate 2 though :D are you sure?

  • Ya, I recognize specifically the Baldur's Gate 2 character creation music at 00:18-00:~30 and again at 1:19-1:26. (yes I am a nerd).

I thought I heard Planescape somewhere in there but after listening to it again I don't think so.

  • that was so funny

  • do u evem KNOW who the leader of men was? there was only one big one not loads u no

  • Of course there were loads of leaders - Elendil would not be able to handle a whole army alone and without generals - that's called tactics u know. :p

But Elven TV is only interested in Gli-galad. Men are not important.

  • actually, there were several leaders of men, you had elendil the high king and you had isildur and his brother anarion kings of gondor. and he never said there were loads of them, just several... so that could be anything from two to a thousand.

  • There were definitely not thousands of kings of gondor... And tbh they really weren't "kings". Elendil was the true High King. The others were more or less provincial governors.

  • elendil was THE high king, isildur was his son, you know the rest. I found it pretty stupid how elendil and gil-galad were both so easily killed by sauron though "/

  • sauron can talk u no

  • lol its supposed to be humor dude

  • Hahahaha cool! ^^

  • man that looks like soth park!

  • whit what progam did you make this?

  • Adobe Creative Suite. The characters were drawn with Illustrator, layered with Photoshop and animated with AfterEffects.

  • lol king kong

  • I wanted to see the fight

  • wtf

  • GAY

  • say what...

    elves ARE gay. that's a fact :p

  • Sauron:fear me...

    elrond:wha-

    sauron:FEAR ME!!!!

  • this is halarious

  • Those eagles always come to ruin everything!I hate them!!!!!:(

  • the music from the background,is it from Baldurs Gate-Shadows of Amn,or im I mistaken!!!

  • Sorry, but the music is not from the movie soundtrack. a colleague at work made it for a video introducing a new printing machine ;) but the client did not want it because it was "too dramatic" - so I used it in my film.

  • Freedom of art. Do you think there were tv reporters at the battle? ;)

  • You mean.....there were no tv reporters?????

  • Thing is Dagorlad is north beyond the Blak Gate and not underneath Orodruin.

  • not to be picky but elrond led the battle

  • No, he did not. Elrond was the herald of the high king Gil galad. Something like first officer ;)

  • oh my mistake

  • haha, Michael Myers87; Virtual high five for that one!

  • NIIICEEE!!!

Lord of the rings is favorite movie

And South park is favorite comics :D

    Good work

  • Hey ilias900, how many arrows does lego have in his quiver?

  • I know EVERYTHING about the lord of the rings and the silmarillion.

  • who is the youngest son of feanor :p

  • Maedhros XD

  • Great! Do you know the name of Legolas mother and if he was the only child or if he had any siblings, and it that case, what's their names and are they older of younger siblings?

  • It's likely that legolas has a brother, since he was not chosen as Thranduil's heir.

  • not in real movie;)

  • oh yes, he does. but this scene - as all of his stuff - was cut out of the cinema version. Utterly. You can see Gil-galad in the "Special Extended Edition" for about 3 seconds fighting some orcs with his spear ;p

Mark Ferguson - who played Gil-galad - even fainted during the making of his death scene in "Sauron"'s grip, because he was choked when lifted off the ground. Backstage knowledge I was told ;)

  • gil galad does not die-.-

  • What did you not get? Yes, he does.

  • lol wie geil leute!!! habt ihr echt genial gemacht!!^^

  • Danke für die Blumen. Bin übrigens nur ein Leut ;)

  • nice paraody.

  • king kong ^^

  • more importantly where was isilidur

  • As this is "elvish television" the reporter did not care about the human kings. As she says there are several leaders of men and it would take too much time to introduce them all - and elvish television is of course only interested in their high king ;)

I made this thing for Mark Ferguson who played Gil-galad - and he really liked it!

And the way Sauron climbs the mountain and is attacked by the eagles is a little hint on King Kong.

It would have taken a year to put in more story and people.

  • but the men were of Nume`nor they were great frends of the elves of Noldor

  • like the animation

  • it wasn't that funny but the animation was superb kinda like south park

  • yea it was liek south park. i practically thought it was.

  • were is haldir?

  • haldir wasnt there

  • gil galad... joke joke

  • ^^ sehr liebevoll gemacht.

  • lol

  • OH MY GOD. Haldir. :O He shouldn't have been made to look like that in the face, he's too pretty. :3 But I love you for putting him in. Congratulations on a job well done! I know I couldn't have done half as well.

  • Sry, ich find das ein wenig komisch O.O

  • i like it, simple but funny. :)

  • simple?

cant you see how much work there is to do for doing something like this?!

  • LMAO, "son of a bitch, let me down. BASTARD"

  • cool

  • Wann gibt's endlich die Fortsetzung online? :)

  • cool :)

  • pore pore sauron

  • boring...

  • Very nice one, indeed! It was quite astonishing for me that you can do animation in After Effects. Looks almost like Flash to me. :)

PS: looking forward to see your next feature on the Big Screen!

  • this was the battle that took place at the very begining of the first one, right?

  • in a way, yes.

  • thats pretty cool. wat program did u use to make the animation?

  • I used Adobe AfterEffects. I did some animation with it for my work and found out that it is a very powerful tool for 2D-animation although it is mostly a postproduction tool.

  • why the eagles don't do shit on sauron ?

  • I know he's in the film ;) I just made this comment because I know how it vexes our dear Mark to be a 3-second-feature ;) Still, he loves my film...
