This is the law with every mixer. It's the 0db law. I've done other tutes on this. In fact, when you are mixing, sometimes it's best to go -3db. Reason being is because when you turn up 2 channels, you can sometimes get a +3 db increase.
But hey, don't take my word for it. Ask someone who actually knows something about Pro Audio and see what they have to say
Let me know what you want to do with DJing and what your budget is and I can put together a nice little system for you. Very soon (within the month) I may be doing some special videos for beginner DJs and starter set-ups.
This is a very old video. IF you look at my new ones, I'm running a Denon DN-X1500S that's, in my oppinion has the same par of quality as the Pioneer models. I've been a Denon freak for a few years now. Great quality without the Pioneer PRice Tag.
only just discovered this video also the trick with the tape across the faders, this has helped me big time simply because i only have a stereo and used to always get distorted or i would have to go adjusting it all the time, not anymore, now all i have to worry about is messin about with eq's
Hey DJMX3, it's the Behringer VMX 300. I've had it for about 2 or 3 months now and it's been a nice little practice unit. I demand more from a Mobile gig mixer but for home use, it's fine. I would have rather had the Denon DN-X100 but what I wanted (3 phono imputs) was not offered on that unit. That BPM counter is helpfull as well. It's inexpensive and functional for the hobby DJ. Thanks for watching and your comment!
I am using the same settings now when practicing. I will check and test the same model of mixer and DJX700 as I have BPM counter on my SL-DZ1200 already. I am planning to replace my expensive Soundcraft UREI 1601E. :) Tnx
I heard that the upfaders should always be at ten incase you bump the fader, and bumping the fader from 6 or 7 to 10 would be a big jump...

hi can u listen to a channel with PFL selected through headphones whilst another channel is playing through the master ??? thanks

i dont get the pre fade levels :(
freak123698745 2 years ago
the reason u go at 8 its because the behringer mixer outputs bad quality sound if u don`t keep the knobs and faders away from at least 80%

Three notches from the top, 8.
But you just said there are 10 notches so 10 notches takeway 3 notches is 7 notches not 8.
