If anybody cares where I stand on the language debate-I'll say this. I don't use profanity myself, but I have no problem with the profanity in this song. Music is an art, and like any art, it must be true to the emotions of the artist. The lyrics were carefully chosen to convey a very specific feeling, and changing the words would be like changing The David for its nudity. The artists (don't forget that bands are comprised of artists) are saying exactly what they mean to say. Respect the art.
36 people missed the like button. They were never heard from again, but next to their computer authorities found a note saying "I'M SO SORRY". Don't hit the dislike button. You may regret it.
the only problem i have with this is the fuckin banjo, i hate that instrument, well i also dont like how they kind of just came up with a catchy chorus line and didnt put much else in the song, i feel like they could of added more verses or whatever they're called and told more of the story of the little lion man rather that talk about fucking it up over and over
@davidstep1956 then watch/listen to the clean version besides it's a lot better in its use of profanity than most music today.( i'm looking at you eminem.)
I love Mumford & sons very talented singers/musicians but baffled why they use foul language in their songs when there are alternative words that can be used. It also hinders airplay and I would love to introduce their music to my kids but refrain because of the use of lyrics, pity, extremely talented guys
@FJFlah71 I'm actually a fan of the language- yes, it's not pretty, but it's honest. The beauty of their music partially lies in how raw and honest it sounds. "I really screwed it up this time" just isn't as perfect.
Chances are your kids have heard the F-word before, assuming they're old enough to enjoy the music in the first place.
@mandagrrrl Maybe I'm out of touch & old fashioned, I & many people who know me regard me as a very honest man but never hear me using foul language. There are 101 words that could easily fit in and be as aggressive and honest as the F word. I remember the first time I heard that song, I immediately was taken in by their sound until I heard the F word & I said to myself that just ruined it 4 me. My kids have heard the F word & many more but know how to express themselves without using it.
@ohdarkmother you're missing the point mother and less of the loser bit, the best rock bands and song writers over the years never used foul language, Bon Jovi, U2, The Beatles The Rolling Stones, Simple Minds, Beyonce, Ryhanna and so on.....Mumford and sons are restricting their chances of airplay by using the F Word etc.... Reputable radio stations won't play songs with foul language and if they do it's the radio edited version which mutes the foul words out so why use them in the first place.
@FJFlah71 Oh you are sooooo wrong. Rihanna, Bon Jovi are 'best writers' or 'best rock band'? Please... I think artist have all the right to use whatever language pleases to get the message thru. Of course strong language or topics have always been a problem for radio stations, especially the ones tired of angry letters from prudish listeners.
Believe it or not, The Beatles and Rolling Stones had their songs banned at times.
@FJFlah71 yes i agree with part of that but no i wouldn't put rihanna in the same sentence as the beatles, and you forgot about RHCP but that's beyond the point , in my opinion its the right phrase to use because no matter how much you don't want it said, that sort of phrase is always used world wide? and people relate to it !?
@logansrevenge Can you point out where I said I hated them..... You need to read the comments again, I said I like their music but using foul language hinders their success as reputable radio stations won't play song's with the F Word etc. I would like to introduce their music to my kids but because of the strong language I chose not to. Their style of music is that it's suitable for all ages and I Think it's great but Lyrics will lose them the few more fans they could have had.
I wonder why this video, which is from the mumfordandsons official channel, has drastically fewer views than the islandrecords channel version, which has over 30 million views. Love this song and love me some Mumfy!
What is so great about there music is that it is simple no elaborate drum sets or big amps all over the place just great music like the way it was meant to be and 35 douche bags don't good music when they hear it
@zedthedinasaur no i understand that i was done in a studio i have seen some of there live videos i just feel it great music because they keep it simple as they can and producing great music
@EmeraldFlame7 I really like the sound of it but I still can't figure out who is doing it lol The video shows the four of them playing the other instruments but you can still hear it through the rest of the song.
@Tilluwen you gotta remember this is a music video, not a live performance. Non of the things you see in this video are what you hear, they used the studio recorded audio and then just threw some video with it to make it look like they were playing it.
I cannot deny that I would n't spend all my shopping money on Little Lion Men.
The main reason I feel this could happen is because my name is Jack and in the past I sold my families only cow for a bag of beans.
My family are still refusing to talk to me and I continue to monitor the ground that I buried the beans in, hoping one day when I look out my window I will see a Giant Beanstalk.
Then when I climb it and steal the golden goose, they will be sorry they laughed at me.
WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT A BOW GOING ACROSS A GUITAR at 00:25 i tried that once with my brothers guitar and he yelled at me.... i just wanted to see what it sounded like... i also cried
Mumford And Sons, God, and a normal man were stuck on an island, but they could see land. God walked across the water, and Mumford And sons followed. The normal man thought, "if they can do it, so can I." he tried and drowned. afterwards god said ,"we shouldve told him bout the rocks. Mumford And Sons all looked at eachother and said,"what rocks"
