There are some rock and roll songs that have great instrumental beginnings, such as Justine by Don & Dewey or Good Golly Miss Molly by Little Richard. But Slow Down by Larry Williams has to rank right up at the top. What a great start to a song!

The Beatles and the Stones were never shy about acknowledging their musical roots. In Keith Richards' autobiography "Life", he states that in the early days of the Stones it was their mission to bring American blues and R&B to England. At that time he never imagined the Stones would last longer than 2-3 years. In their own way, the Beatles dis the same with their early records.

@thediceman711 Most Beatles fans know that Slow Down was not written by the Beatles. It was not a big hit for them and mostly constituted filler material. Also Larry Williams was not a major influence on the Beatles.
