The 1st car I remember riding in when I was about 3 or 4 years old was Dad's '36 Chevy sedan. He drove it until 1945 when he got a chance to buy a well used '41 Pontiac. No cars were built during WWII and a good used car for sale was very hard to find. All I remember about the old Chevy was a fender-bender when I was riding with my mother and it scared me half to death. Granddad drove the old Chevy for a few years after his Model A Ford gave up the ghost.

When I graduated in 1948 I took over the family Farm. I bought a 1949 Chevorlet Cab Over Truck.
