I went to NorVa to see ChthoniC and Satyricon (and Toxic Holocaust, but meh), and ChthoniC weren't allowed to play because a stupid reggae concert was going on right after the show, and ChthoniC was the band that got cut. So I had to listen to the atrocious "music" that Bleeding Through plays, while ChthoniC were out in their trailer or something. It ruined the entire concert that I drove a 10-hour round-trip for.

You can compare COF to Chthonic. COF has written some amazing symphonic black metal. Even if they've lost all credibility, they have some amazing songs (Cruelty & The Beast, Thirteen Autumns.., Her Ghost In The Fog, Queen of Winter Throned). Chthonic is the best thing to happen to symphonic metal in a long time (which is funny..considering they've been around for quite a while, but just recently began gaining attention.)

Japanese culture doesn't resemble Taiwan's. Taiwan's culture is actually an offshoot of China Mainland's as Taiwan was part of China. While Japan has always been an individual country with their own set of influences, which explains their own unique language and writing system.
