I dont like how he explains sorcs in this video.. you dont fucking blow your own character to pieces.. you damage it in a very small minute amount. With full dark magic on i pretty much alway crit but it SOMETIMES back lashes and hits me for like 350 or 700. Note i have around 7k hp so you are NOT blowing your self up.

@F1N1SHEDD I think it's because he was trying to relate it to the tabletop sorcs, where your sorc blowing herself up is a very real possibility. The mechanic is crossed over into this game, but it's toned down, because if you miscast in this game and are (for example) never able to cast spells again that would kinda suck...

I don't think Dark Elves embody the idea of Emos or Goths... They are warlike and cruel, not whiny faggots who dress in black. In a fight, an Emo would be dead before the opponent even got to him, by suicide. A Goth would just stand around a whine until he gets clubbed to death from intense gayness.

no, its just that female dark elves are more magicly connected, also male babies tend to be given swords n stuff and females have more options(blades, magic or khaine) although there are a few male spell users but its rare, malehith himself is probly the most powerful male sorcerer out there, although that is because his mother is the most powerful sorceress

@warhammer40k123 There is a Dark elf legend that a male sorsoreer will be the one to dethrone malekith, Its explained in the Game Manual, but During age of reakoning, He is a wee bit desperate, and allows them to study it, under the watchful eye of the Blackguards, who are His bodyguards and are trained to destroy magic users (Hence so he can be defended against what he expects)

In reality, in team fights, dark magic backlash is negligible damage to yourself which even the worst healer can cover for easily, which means you can cast spells as fast as you want, and tactical element is gone, turning this class into just another button masher....

Solo, backlash or no backlash, ANY class will eat you up before your first induction is done (except for healers, who will heal thru your damage and slowly take you down)

According to the warhammer lore, in dark elf society any MALE who practices sorcery is executed... maybe due to some prophecy that says that Malekith (the ruler) shall be destroyed by a more powerfull magic user guy, so thats the short way to prevent such a thing.
