  • My god, this takes me back. In a good way, I hasten to add...

  • I always thought these guys were victims of the grunge music that the labels fell in love with. They bypassed so much amazing pop music just to worship at the altar of distortion.

  • One of my favourite 'baggy' anthems... Legendary tune.

  • Brilliant song, brilliant sound - love the guitars. How was this not a much bigger hit?

  • Should have been massive. Went to a major label too early

  • Hadn't heard this in aeons! Brilliant! Thanks for posting it and thank God for YouTube! All Quiet on the Preston Front! So long ago!

  • i was at the last gig at the carlton in morecambe. My bird dumped me cos i went to see them instead of going out with her. Ha Ha

  • saw them in 91 ,exeter time piece!!

  • great band seen them live in exeter .....

  • I recorded some of their demos at Lowfold studios around 1991 - they were great lads - still see nian the drummer in sainsburys every now and again ! They were better than a lot of the bands that made it bigger than they did - think I might look for their master tapes !!!

  • These were the first band I ever saw. They were supporting The La's on the 14th of March 1991 at Leeds University. They were loads better than the The La's that night. That line 'Here I stand, ponytail and flares' makes me cringe everytime I hear it. Otherwise, this is a great song.

  • Good song, but they're like the Boo Radleys ie= second division

  • Your being generous to the Boo Radleys there.

  • Great tune, just an excellent pop song!!

  • They were mediocre, if anything. Plastic Spearmen and all, up there own. Dreary period, they were nothing like the Stone Roses, they fell off their own bandwagon when the appeared on Blue Peter - radical. Spunky, Burnley

  • haha ye burnley i great but they were from colne mate

  • or love lol

  • It sounds very similar to a song by a band who made it big at about the same time. I guess thats what the Indie sound was all about then, the whole Madchester thing ? This is a really good song though, I haven't heard it before.

  • Cracked it, the song I was thinking about was "There She Goes" by The La's. Not sure which came first as I know the La's hit was long after they first did the song...

  • what a class song im only 20 but was brought up listening to these with my dad

  • Excellent song!

  • these guys only just missed the boat in my opinion

  • I was at their last gig at the carlton in morecambe, Ha Ha

  • Cheers for putting this on. A top debut album taht I still listen to 17 years on!

  • da keyboard guy is my teacher

  • He's my uncle =]

  • Takes me back to the early 90's when I saw them play in big venues like Colne Municipal Hall.....great times though and i'll second fshcakes's clarets big up - longside till i die.

  • fshcake says big up the burnley lads

  • Bloody hell!!!! There really is everything on youtube! Was'nt expecting to find this! Nice one for putting this on here! Definately preston front fans unite! Thank you, you've made my night!

  • I thought the singer was the coolest cunt on the planet when I was 14.

    He was pretty cool!

  • Brilliant. Preston Front fans unite!

  • yeah whith out a doubt influenced bands like the la.s and maybe the corral..

  • This band is awsome, remind me of The La's so much, they're songs, guitars and singing. Praise the 90's!

  • Oasis used to be there support band!!

  • seen em a few times. top band..

  • This band should have been huge.

  • Here I Stand or "There she goes"

  • Great song, great band and Burnley fans to top it off. Up the Clarets

  • utc

  • Awesome track, proper northern music from proper northern guys, top class

  • This song was used as the theme to BBC drama 'All quiet on the Preston front'. Check out Liverpool group 'The La's' for similar glorious jangly guitars.

Let us all praise The Byrds!

  • love preston front.
