According to a memory expert Tony Buzan about 50% of our vocabulary is composed of a few words: knowing and using these is a large asset. The fact of the matter is that DT is either a total medical anomaly or reproduces the effects by known (but obscure) techniques that several normal people are able to do as well, yet do not claim unique synesthesia or autism.

For all we know there could be people just like Daniel who have practised mnemonics to meet the same ability but don't show themselves.
